Habs30/31
Price playing Thank God. Thumbs up to Condon though. The rookie has played better than anyone could have expected. Score first and a score a power play goal and they will beat the islanders.
dlbalr
Thumbs up to Condon though. The rookie has played better than anyone could have expected. Agreed. He wasn't at his best the last few starts but he went 5-2-2 in Price's absence. Not bad at all for a rookie.

habs rule
Mike Condom did his job excellently, he had a tough night last night but playing 9 games and being the difference is a couple is all you can ask of a guy who was in the echl 2 years ago. Good for him Mr price is back, so let's score some goals to welcome him back. Say 5 would be nice. :gohabsgo:

PMAC
I think at the time of Price's injury if someone told us Habs' fans that Price would be out 9 games and that Condon would go 5-4-0 we would have been happy. 5-2-2 means that the team got points in 7 of 9 the games Condon started. That was a phenomenal performance by a rookie backup who was in the AHL last year and the ECHL not long before that

So he gave us a chance to get back in it and we did. I really like the kid.

The Chicoutimi Cucumber
I think teams were figuring Condon out a bit (e.g., taking advantage of his aggressive tendency to challenge the shooter by maing back-door plays or banging in rebounds), but that he remains a good goalie regardless. Nevertheless...Carey! Carey! Carey! The Goalie God returns!!!

dlbalr
I liked the jump the Habs had in the first. We hadn't seen that for a while. I have to think part of that is extra confidence from having Price back.
sbhatt
Glad to see our guys on the attack early. Beyond pissed that the blatant goalie interference was ignored both initially and upon video review...that call is such an arbitrary joke thus far it's not even funny. The coaches challenge shouldn't be the return of the crease rule.

dlbalr
Price was barely touched. The coaches challenge shouldn't be the return of the crease rule. I agree; I didn't think it was blatant interference. That said, I think it was a worthwhile challenge given what has been called incidental contact so far. sbhatt
I'm not saying I want every incidence of that level of contact to be the standard of that rule...I'm saying that since that level most often has been called interference, that should have been too. I just want CONSISTENCY one way or the other. So far, any amount of contact that is likely to have prevented the goalie from having an unmolested attempt to make the save...or pushed the goalie out of position, has been called. It's undeniable that there was a push that not only made it harder for Price to come up with that puck off of his chest/shoulder area, but it also delayed him in kicking that leg out to attempt the save as his weight was back some from center line. So by the definition they laid out at the start of the season, and have used to call back many thus far on challenges, that should have been called back.
