I expect any AHL contract on defence will go to more experienced players to mentor the youngsters.

Maybe Roger but he wouldn't be cracking Laval's lineup anyway. It's not a particularly good group of players to choose from. There was a second Hab on that list originally as well but he was removed recently, Joe Vrbetic. I have a piece about Dichow coming later today when his release is official and I dig in a bit in that one as to why Vrbetic is still going to be with the team. dlbalr
McKay was surprisingly useful in a limited role down the stretch and Parker-Jones was decent in Trois-Rivieres (he didn't play much in Laval). Not surprised either are back.
alfredoh2009
I wanted the Habs to pickup Bellows on the cheap a few seasons ago, he has been booted to the recycling bin as a reclamation project. He never established himself in the AHL or NHL. Having unheralded seasons in Bridgeport. Maybe an alternative to Teasdale or Belzile if they are not re-signed? #Flyers did not offer a qualifying offer to Kieffer Bellows, Wyatte Wylie and Evan Barratt, making them UFAs on July 1. They’ve also tolled the contract of G Ivan Fedotov. — Frank Seravalli (@frank_seravalli) June 14, 2023
dlbalr
There could be a change on Laval's coaching staff next season: Someone suggested to me a few weeks ago that there could be an assistant change coming but I didn't think it was going to be Buchberger looking to move on. My working theory was that Martin Laperriere would be opting to take one of the many QMJHL head coaching spots.
DON
Does Buchberger have much of a coaching resume? Just hard to believe the AHL "hockey" season ends June 21st, so out of season its just stupid.

There is no questioning his grit and attitude. He might turn into a good 4th line center but I think the question mark is his skating. It needs to get better, it didn't seem that great to me.
dlbalr
As of yet, Martel, Bourque, Centorame, and Dello are not signed with Laval for next season. You can take Beck off the table as he is not AHL-eligible next year. Of note, for anyone wondering, all 4 RFAs need waivers to get to Laval as do Primeau, Andersson, Keeper, and Maillet
