Kapanen gets screwed 😢

Go Habs Go

Or maybe Slafkovsky is the one that gets screwed, having to play with Newhook and Dach?

We shall see ...

Yes, those guys are important components.

Again, most/some folks seemed to think Dach would come out of the blocks and pile up the offense this season.

So, is it the lofty expectations that need to be more realistic?

Some big guys like Weber/Gill seemed to take awhile to get up to speed in the fall as well.

So i wouldnt get too excited yet, same goes for when Laine returns.

If Newhook and Dach continue their floundering, it’s really going to blow a hole in the rebuild.

I wonder what Newhook's challenge is. He was doing well late last year with Armia and Gallagher, and yet here he is, struggling in spite of improved linemates.

Newhook is excellent in transition.

He's suffering from defensive struggles not creating quick breakouts and transition/odd-man rush opportunities.

How was Wilson’s late hit on Hutson not a penalty?

Hutson got crushed after the whistle

He had just released the puck, I don’t really think it was late. But he can’t get hit like that too often.

Heads-up work by #17 on the PK.

Newhook seems to have eaten his Wheaties this morning.

Ya know something? I don’t think I’m a huge fan of Barron.

Anderson had a good, hard period 👍

I did like Heineman‘s jump and I hope it pays off for him.

I agree on Barron. He just doesn’t seem to fit with anyone in the Dzone.

The team overall just can’t get consistent pressure or flow. Long stretches in our own zone

That’s the thing with Barron. He seems to be disproportionately the culprit when the Habs get hemmed in. Those long stretches often track back to some play where he fails to execute under pressure or get the puck out.

On Anderson, I think we have to understand that he’s lost a step. That’s why we never see him steamrolling past the D on the outside like he used to do 2-3 times per game. The only option for him now is to remake himself as a hard-nosed bottom-6 guy,

OR ... collect the $15.5M in actual salary remaining for this and the next 2 seasons and use the time to plan his post-hockey life.
