jetsniper
Not liking all the Dallas in 5's... Seriously, we're a better team than we're given credit for. Dallas has 12 points off of the shootout (which, last time I checked, won't be used in the playoffs). Let's take those 12 points away and they drop all the way to 5th. Not only that, they have a terrible poweplay which is key in the playoffs. Turco has a terrible reputation in the playoffs as well. Honestly, Dallas is a good team but Colorado isn't going to go quietly into the night. Especially since we're adding Wolski into the lineup who would've had a Svatos type season. And he only was one of the top OHL players and won OHL MVP.
Dutch_Habs_Fan
Yes, but Jet, how are the Avs' Goalies? Budaj is just Shaky when it matters. For sure the other goalie is fresh and well rested. But didn't have a good year, and could use some time to get in shape. So i don't know if the Avs' have better G!

CerebusClone
OTT vs. TB: Ottawa in 6 The Sens are healthy, and will overpower the inconsistent Tampa Bay boys. However, I feel Ottawa might get a little "choking" scare, trailing the series 1-2, but coming back very strong to finish off the Bolts. CAR vs. MTL: Montreal in 7 This will be a back and forth series. Koivu will rise up to the occasion once again, neutralizing the Staal line while putting up some decent numbers. The other lines will be inconsistent, but hopefully together they will manage to support the Koivu line at least 4 times out of 7. This might be more wishfull thinking than an unbiased analysis, but as a Montrealer, I have to hope for the best... NJ vs. NYR: NJ in 5 The Rangers won't last long against the very hot Devils. New Jersey has been a completely different team since the return of Elias. Brodeur should put Lundqvist in his pocket, while Jagr will be left alone for goal production. BUF vs. PHI: Philly in 6 The Flyers have been inconsistent all season, by I think they'll put it altogether during the playoffs. A healthy Forsberg will carry the offense, the rookies Carter and Richards will rise up to the occasion, while the rest (Handzus, Kapanen) will share secondary offense while playing reliable defense. The Sabres will be good, but the Flyers will be better. DET vs. EDM: Detroit in 6 Detroit will be too strong for the Oilers, but Edmonton should be lucky enough to steal a couple, with Roloson standing on his head, and Pronger and Peca playing great playoff hockey. DAL vs. COL: Colorado in 6 I think Theodore will make Lacroix look good for the first round, while Blake and Sakic lead this team through the Stars. CGY vs. ANA: Calgary in 5 Calgary's very strong defense should quickly make crispy duck out of Anaheim, who have had a fantastic season, but will come up short in the playoffs. NSH vs. SJ: San Jose in 6 In theory, the Sharks should only make one bite out of the Vokoun-less Predators, but they've had trouble winning the easy games with inconsistent secondary offensive support, and their struggling goaltenders. Still, Thornton will finally prove that he's a leader, and make the Bruins regret one of the worst trades in recent history.
revvvrob
i say that all the favorites will WIN. there will be NO UPSETS in the first round! some of you have come close to saying the same thing (shortcat, sakiqc) but have said SJ would beat Nashville. I say Ottawa Carolina NJ Buf Det Dal Cal Nash All teams with home-ice advantage - all will win their series. (as much as it pains me to say that i think the Habs will lose) none-the-less GO HABS GO ... PROVE ME WRONG!!!! (please)

revvvrob
I know you are a man of the cloth but care to make a wager? Don't worry about Mason in net or Nashville as a team - they will rise to this new challenge - they are resilent - they will win! You know, I never really have understood why they use the term 'man of the cloth' - oh well - I don't really care that much to find out.
