  1. Sportsnet is showing 1993 Stanley cup finals game 5. Montreal against the Kings. I’m really struck by the amount of hooking, holding, slashing, interference that happens as routine play. The hockey is slow and grinding. It’s funny just how much I idolized those players for being so great and I’m not sure that most of them would survive in today’s NHL. Nostalgia vs reality is a funny thing.
  2. Well this sounds amazing. It does seem like he is in competition with Beck for third line centre once Dvorak is gone. Best player in the league is exciting. Habs have a bunch of prospects about to push for roster spots and I’m looking forward to that
  3. It’s wild to see Florida crushing Tampa. We all knew Tampa was sunsetting but all that elite talent is about to get swept. Will they trade vets and rebuild or double down and try to win one more time? Can’t stand Tampa either way. Tonight, Canucks better show up. You hear that Pettersson?
  4. He definitely made the initial hit on their Dmen when hunting pucks. Dubois just didn’t seem to compete beyond that. Like no drive to battle the boards or drive play. He seems lazy but maybe it’s just his style leaving that impression 🤷‍♂️
  5. I think this trade comes down to what Mailloux turns into. If he becomes a first pairing stud then Habs lose, if he is a bottom pairing guy then Habs win. Presuming the Habs draft two high end forwards at pick 3 and 5. Definitely an interesting proposal
  6. Nobody believes Caufield is even possibly being traded. It was a very interesting proposal In terms of value and would it be worth it.
  7. Conspiracy theory but I’ve had a sneaking suspicion for a while that PLD will be in the player assistance program at some point.
  8. Kings and Edmonton has kind of been a bananas game. Chaotic hockey with spurts of great chances. Dubois looks like he isn’t competing very hard. Perhaps he is injured, perhaps his heart is in Montreal.
  9. Offsetting penalties would have been better but with 2 minutes to go in the game and both players were being shits, refs should have let it go. Leafs crying about it is nonsense too because Boston got screwed by the refs too. Fun game to watch
  10. Bruins gotta start Swayman going forward! That Tavares penalty at the end of the third was ridiculous. I’m still laughing about it. Leafs got screwed but they were losing anyway. Bruins, please win on Saturday
  11. I want Roy to win as well. The “incident” did break my heart and I was angry at all sides, including Roy. I let that go when his number was raised. I will never forget 1986 - Roy was beyond incredible and 1993 wasn’t far off. I’m a fan for life
  12. This is indeed an interesting offer. Ducks get their RD and top 6 forward Habs get a replacement for CC and a top player from this draft. Actually seems fair
  13. What a game by Colorado Screw you Nashville I can’t stand old, slow Washington Battle of Florida is boring I hope Boston crushes the leafs tonight
  14. I have no idea why I actually like the Canucks but it might be because they are the only Canadian team that hasn’t offended me. Leafs, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Ottawa - I strongly dislike for one dumb reason or another but the Canucks are cool.
