habsfan88
I think we should give this guy more of a chance on the PP. We rarely see him shoot from the point, but when he does it's something special, his shots are so accurate. They may not be Souray-type blasts, but they are very hard for his stature and more importantly very accurate. I think Streit should see more PP minutes. What do you guys think? JoeLassister
As they play, Streit should replace Bouillon or Dandenault at defense. We're losing a good youngster place on the 4rth line.
Habsfan24
I think for sure on PP Streit should be out there before Rivet on the point...I have never understood why Rivet is out there on the PP so much.
Dalhabs
I think that almost anything in the world should be out there before Rivet. One of those dolls that cloth stores dresses up would be of better use.

Streit and Rivet are both on the 2nd unit.
matsnaslundsuperfan
oh what difference a year makes. This guy is doing extremely well... so what do all who wrote off the Streit experiment last year have to say now. Congratulations to Gainey and his think tank. I'm enjoying watching this guy. Toren
If Streit continues to embrace the idea of playing as a forward 5on5 and on the PK, and getting time on the blueline on the PP, he could become a force. He still seems a little akward doing things normal forwards should be able to do (crashing the net, going alone on a D-man, ect...) but it's not to say that he can't work around that. He's certainly got the jump. Kind of funny how a defensively-######ed defenceman can be a good defensive forward/PP specialist.

Chips
tonights victory over the sens was yet another best for Streit. He can be and will be a big part of our energy. What ever he lacks presently, he certainly makes up for it with energy every shift. GO HABS GO!

Dirty Harry
He was terrible as a d-man and should not be allowed back there except on the PP. I am glad he has found a way to shine as a forward, really shows great energy and soft hands. Its a funny thing with defencemen, and I notice this when I play, that when you throw a normal d-man up front (not a rushing specialist type like coffey or orr), or even just get them to rush, they really dont hold back and go all out. It's a lot of fun for dmen to be going forward at full speed all over the place when we normally are stationary manning the point, playing zone coverage and skating backwards most of time. Prime Minister Koivu
I am amazed at is creativity and soft hands. Given some training and time he might be second line material.
Easy Ryder
He is the silent leader of this team. I love his attitude, he's cheap and can play both wings and dfense effectively.

JMMR
Last year he was not used to the size of the ice or the noth american game I do believe that he will get another shot as a defenseman either this season or next.
Dutch_Habs_Fan
Funny fact is, in dutch his name means(pronounced the same, written a little bit different): Fight/Battle/Compete, and thats what he did. And look @ him now, great to see that he has a great year. He deserves is
The Chicoutimi Cucumber
I really appreciate how Streit has stepped up. BUT: This is exactly the kind of player that LOSING TEAMS give a lot of ice time to. He's reliable, reasonably effective, can do all sorts of things in a passably effective way, etc.. But in no respect is he an elite player and in no way does he have the potential to be an elite player. Like Oleg petrov, Patrick Poulin, Sergei Zholtok, he's the type that would have been given major minutes on the 1999 Canadiens. So I agree that he is eating up minutes that should - must - go to the Perezhogins of the world, if this organization is ever to graduate to bona-fide contender status. Streit is a symptom of our malaise, not any sort of answer to it.
Chris
Yep. that's right CC, unfortunately the team is back to having alot of floaters. So if Streit earns the ice time it's up to the lazy players wanting ice time to wake up and take it. It shouldn't be given to them. I'm like everyone else on Perez, he hustles every night and plays hard, so i'm not sure why he doesn't get the opportunity.
Athlétique.Canadien
Agree, lukewarmly though. At $600,000 and considering on many teams he'd be a number 4 D is fine with me. PS. Don't shoot the messenger. TSN's panel came up with the number 4 D thing.
