Though reading some of the comments, I think some may prefer Plekanec getting double shifted.

SOOPAVILLIN
2 pleky's would be great, but I don't understand all the hate for Gomez. I watch everygame and although the numbers might not be stellar he definitely has intangibles that I wouldn't just right off. And he is obviously one of the leaders with with kids, remember how good that line was with max pacs.

BCHabnut
Gomez and Subban are the only two that can skate the puck in.

hab29RETIRED
Gomez and Subban are the only two that can skate the puck in. Gomez may be able to skate it in, but the problem is he tends to give it away over 50% of the time.
dlbalr
Gomez may be able to skate it in, but the problem is he tends to give it away over 50% of the time. And yet he only has been credited with 24 giveaways on the entire season in 73 games. That puts him tied for 11th on the Habs with Gorges and tied for 276th in the NHL. I'm not a big fan of the stat overall as I think it's a little too subjective, but like my piece on the site right now regarding penalties, I feel as if once again people have been misled as to Gomez's supposed lack of effectiveness. Does he turn it over more than some (and is that 24 a little low)? Sure, but that will happen to those who carry the puck in more, it's only logical. Mitch
I think the players will be itching to go tonight, especially with the rags creeping up. Get the puck out. Skate the puck in. Shoot the puck. Le But.
brobin
We must catch Tampa and play the Pens first round... tonight is a key game for that.. forget catching the Bruins, its irrelevant. Avoid the top 3 in the first round and anything can happen. Face one of them, and you might win, but it takes a whole lot out of the team. Oh.. and I am wearing my habs jersey, but if they put in another performance like the one against the Bruins (or Buffalo), then I am going to suspend it for at least 5 games. brobin
On another note, I am tired of the constant Gomez bashing. He is having a terrible season, there is no doubt. He is also very unlucky. Perfect passes not buried, can't score to save his life, etc. That said, he was one of the few guys who played hard against the Bruins. That last goal on the 5-3 was a brutal, lazy, give up play by Pleks and Wiz. Pleks was down right awful, as were most players. After, it was apparently all Gomez's fault. This whole team has to look in the mirror and pick up their games. All of them. Cammy and Gionta are suppose to be pure goal scorers. Neither are earning their pay checks. Pleks is on pace for the kind of season that got Koivu and Riberio run out of town. I am okay with his production if he was the 2nd center, but people are acting like he is a superstar. Pouliot and Eller need to give a lot more then they are giving. I have no complaints with Des and Pacs. Oddly enough, our defense are probably the only group collectively that are meeting or exceeding expectations (Price excepted). With all the injuries and the increased ice time, Hammer, Subban, Gill, and even Spacek have done a great job. Price and Auld have done their part and then some. If this team wants to go anywhere in the post season, they all have to step up and start playing to their maximum potential. This team doesn't have enough talent to carry passengers. Sir_Boagalott
Gomez and Subban are the only two that can skate the puck in. Wiz seems to be fairly decent at carrying the puck up ice too. Gomez may be able to skate it in, but the problem is he tends to give it away over 50% of the time. Thats in the eye of the Beholder though. I dont disagree that the puck often flies off his stick when stick handling like that. That happenes to everybody who tries moves like that. The bizare thing I have noticed aboot Gomez which seems to differentiate him from the other danglers is the move hs does right before the puck comes off of his stick. Gomez seems to try his hardest biggest dangles only towards other Habs players. I'm convinced that he subconsciously does this. Most of the time when Gomez dangles and looses the puck its not a turnover, its more of an errant pass to a Habs player near by. He does somehwat control when he looses the puck, and where it ends up. hab29RETIRED
same story as the last two games, shots taken from the outside, no pressure or attempt to drive to the net, with the exception of one play by White. Already down 1-0. I hate the line combos, oh great and now the usual stupid penalty by the habs. And yet he only has been credited with 24 giveaways on the entire season in 73 games. That puts him tied for 11th on the Habs with Gorges and tied for 276th in the NHL. There is no way those stats are right. i'm going to count his carry-ins tonight, because the majority of his carry-ins have resulted in turnovers. well at least they killed the penalty. hab29RETIRED
I hate seeing AK46 with Gomez - they have had absolutely no success, why put AK46 with the one guy that he always ends up in a long dry streak with?? hab29RETIRED
AK46 out of the box with Pleks and two scoring chances. Why the heck Martin doesn't keep him with Plesk or Eller is beyond me Hopefully that rush and effort by Pleks is a sign of things to expect from Pleks. There's a difference between Pleks having a handful of truly bad games this year, whereas, there's been only a handful of good games by Gomez. Why is that that Gomez's wingers are able to produce with other centers??? Gomez's carry-ins are part of the problem - its the same move. More often then not, instead of creating room for his wingers, he tends to skate over to them. You'll get no argument from me about Cammy. I honestly don't get why everyone here wanted to trade AK46 for a bag of pucks when he is producing more then Cammy at half the salary. As for Gionta, with the exception of his 40 goal year, he always has a lousy shooting percentage. But at least he does put up his 20+ goals you want from him. 30 would be a bonus. but 25 is what I'd expect from Gionta. That's why i hated signing him for $5M, which is $1M more then he is worth. That's been the habs achilles heel. Almost every guy they sign, they overpay by at least a $1M. How the hell is that a penalty to Eller???????
