Commandant
Have the Habs turned a corner? Following Wednesday night's victory over the New Jersey Devils, the Canadiens are now winners of 3 of their last 5 games. Before that, things were miserable, and as the standings have bunched up, they will need to get some wins to maintain their spot in the standings. It won't be easy though, as tonight's visitor, the Pittsburgh Penguins seem to have turned things around under new coach Mike Sullivan. Sidney Crosby, all-star game snub, has been scoring again and the Penguins fortunes have turned. Without Jeff Petry in the lineup, Michel Therrien and company must come up with a game plan as to how to defend the fact that the Penguins have two elite forward trios. Evgeni Malkin has a 6 game point streak against the Habs. sbhatt
Our top 6 isn't scaring anyone No kidding...lacking legit 2nd line wingers when compared to top contenders. When we can't count on Carey letting in 2 or less every night, it's tough. As usual, need the kids to excel and the bottom 6 to chip in bigtime likely to win. Our PP coming back to life could help in a big way (I'm talking to you, PK Subban!)
BCHabnut
Having Letang and Matta back makes a huge difference for this team. Their transition will be much better than the first half. GHG
DON
If win, team will be winners in 4 of last 6; but if lose they will of lost 9 of last 12.
DON
Boone noted Subban's last even strength goal was March 17th and Markov also with zero goals at even strength this season.

Neech
Welp another period being dominated and hanging on for dear life with our goalie bailing us out. Is this the Theodore era?
habs rule
Hey we gotta trade for another goalie, this guy can't score a goal if his life depends on it.
dlbalr
Great period from Condon. Eller had a good one as well. Markov/Subban are going to be tired after this one, over 10 minutes apiece in the 1st. Not having Petry is going to see both of them have really busy nights. Lovett's Magnatones
The HNIC gang are getting on my nerves tonight. Kind odd to pile on a team that's down 1-0 halfway through the game against a good team. C'mon, they're talking about the number of offensive zone faceoffs. Who talks about that? Lovett's Magnatones
Montreal creates nothing. So boring I don't picture many causal fans looking at the TV schedule saying "oh? The Canadiens. I'm going to tune in."
sbhatt
I don't picture many causal fans looking at the TV schedule saying "oh? The Canadiens. I'm going to tune in." No kidding. tomh009
Boone noted Subban's last even strength goal was March 17th and Markov also with zero goals at even strength this season. I guess Subban was listening to that!
dlbalr
I'm glad Subban got one, hopefully that gets him going. Pateryn's not helping his cause, he had a couple of bad blunders that period. With Barberio potentially chasing him down for a roster spot (a lot depends on how much longer Gilbert will be out for), it's a disappointing game for him thus far. The penalty kill did really well killing that one off at the end of the period. If Pittsburgh scores there, it might be game over but they're still only stuck one.
