We won. Sounds weird to say. Nice goal by Lars.

Hopefully this win will change our fortunes and we start winning again. I'd feel more confident saying that if we won the right way tonight. We should of had that game much easier but took off our foot in the second and third

PK just coasting as Lupul scores..

It's far from the first time and considering how often it happens, it won't be the last.

Flynn.. All the talent and you send out Flynn

He scored in the last shootout; I figured he'd get a look. He made a good move too.

still doesn't really feel like a win, but it's 2 points

The Habs get two points and the Leafs get one which hurts their tank job. Best of both worlds (unless you're on the Montreal tank bandwagon...).

nice roof job by Eller

Really!!??? Why?? Sure as heck feels like a win to me. The team battled hard and Condon, Pacioretty and Eller game up big. A must needed win and--hopefully a big confidence boost.

Thank God. There have been so many games lately that they have lost that they deserved to win that losing another one would have been a killer

I'm not on the tank wagon, I was referring to the lack of joy one can take from that game as a fan. The team played poorly (except for the first period) yet again, and we had key players showing a complete lack of effort.

I tuned back in for the 3-on-3 and SO...at least those brought a bit of excitement.

Putting Flynn out there was a head-scratcher for sure. I'd put Subban out for the SO, myself - the theory being that there's no substitute for talent. The capacity of coaches to out-think themselves never ceases to amaze me.

Anyway, happy ending. After the failure of the Winter Classic to spark any turnaround, I no longer have any faith that this or that win will make any difference. They need to get 2-3 under their belts - only then will the confidence really start coming back.

I would put Flynn out again. I think he only has two attempts this year. A goal and beat the goalie but not the snow pile. I wold lIke to see PK on the shootout more though..

Flynn is a shootout specialist. He was in Buffalo and he has done solid for us so far.

I think Flynn has the attributes to play on the 3rd line, in a bit more offensive role, he's not that physical anyway, but he's smart and can actually bury when in close.

Good utility player, and hard worker, and can deke a goalie! :)

Galchenyuk looked really good last night. That kid has so much talent. One day it is all going to come together for him.

We went to quite a few sting games when him and Yak were together, and man did they ever have chemistry... Be nice to see Galchenyuk on a line with a player like that again

There were rumors last year that the Habs were trying to get Yakupov, but it didn't work out. I read a rumor that Bergevin has re-opened those talks with Edmonton on the possibility of acquiring Yakupov again this year. Rumor was on thefourthperiod.com in the same blog as a Drouin rumor about a week ago. Only problem is, I think it will at the very least cost Beaulieu (that's my opinion not the rumor).

I've said before, I can't see any way of acquiring a high-end young FW that doesn't involve Beaulieu.

I really believe in building from the back end, but the absence of skill up front is just so demoralizing that I've reluctantly come to accept this as a trade-off I'd make. Although I suppose a really cool-headed analyst would ask which is harder to find via free agency: a good top-4 defenceman, or a good top-6 FW? And make the decision on that basis. Because if we move Nate, we will need a top-4 defenceman UFA for sure. And if we don't, we will need a top-6 - preferably top-3 - UFA FW for sure.

*Glenn Healy's voice* So, the Habs pinched & zoomed 2 points against Leafs. And it was IN 4K! FOUR TIMES THE FULL HD!

They'll be putting cameras in PK's jock-strap next. Enough already. How about spending less on cameras and more on non-idiot commentators? Thanks

well you have to ask yourself what are the assets you can afford to move. Beaulieu is the most obvious that will get a decent scoring forward. Who do we have to replace him? I don't see much, which is why I would have kept Tinordi and not gotten the all star forward. If we let beaulieu go we open up another hole. Pateryn maybe can fill that spot but he does not have any offensive upside that i have seen. However I do like him.
