dlbalr
It's getting a little disappointing seeing hardly anyone step up to start a GDT. It shouldn't just be the same couple of people each time... (Lines are from last game) Lee - Nelson - Beauvillier Bailey - Pageau - Palmieri Parise - Barzal - Wahlstrom Martin - Cizikas - Johnston Chara - Dobson Pelech - Pulock Greene - Hutton Sorokin Caufield - Suzuki - Anderson Pitlick - Evans - Armia Hoffman - Dvorak - Gallagher Pezzetta - Poehling - Byron Romanov - Savard Edmundson - Petry Schuemenan - Wideman Price
DON
How will the d play in front of Price tonight? Very conservative?
dlbalr
The D looked quite sharp in the first...largely because they didn't have to defend much. They're making a concerted effort to not make it a rough return for Price.
Commandant
Good first period in front of him. 0-0 but Habs had the better chances
DON
3 guys over 7 minutes icetime Romanov 7:34 Anderson 7:27 Caufield 7:
tomh009
Last time they were giving up this few shots was AZ, exactly a month ago.
alfredoh2009
#Habs fans are loudly cheering Price’s saves (even though they’re routine) and booing Chara when he touches the puck. This feels like normalcy. — John Lu (@JohnLuTSNMtl) April 15, 2022
DON
3 shots for Petry, Romanov, Gallagher and #55. Other than goalie, the Isles seem pretty weak team.
dlbalr
Another pretty good period overall from Montreal but Sorokin - who wasn't even supposed to start this game - has been quite sharp.
The Chicoutimi Cucumber
Habs playing a hell of a game for #31. Sorokin is playing spoiler, though - he’s been terrific so far. Armia is having one of his occasional good nights. Excellent to see Chara hurt. Hopefully it’s serious for that pr*ck.

Commandant
Hes played well for a first game all year. The forwards have controlled the game and been goalied by sorokin. Id like to see them get 1 back and lose 2-

Yeah thats true too. Still last man back has to be extra careful with the puck
tomh009
Pitlick, Armia and Evans have looked dangerous all night but can't get the puck past Sirokin.
Habs Fan in Edmonton
Outshooting the Islanders 39-14 and losing 2-0, some nights it's not meant to be.
tomh009
I'm pretty sure we haven't outshot anyone 2:1 this year yet.

It’s just a pity it had to happen on the night of Price’s return. I’d have liked him to look a bit better on the second goal - not that it was a horrible goal - but he’s probably feeling fatigue at that point. Quite a statement game from Sorokin. Habs Fan in Edmonton
I am guessing Carey will get a rest tomorrow night. It should be a rested, cranky Capital team after getting smoked in Toronto.

I dunno, maybe 3-4 more starts this season for #31?
dlbalr
That was one of Montreal's best games of the year. Too bad they couldn't get rewarded for their efforts.

I’ll feel better if his knee holds up for the rest of the season. Still a bit nervous about that - as he is, probably.
