Prime Minister Koivu
I will update when starting goalie gets announced along with any roster moves. Best part of the hockey week so far is the signing of Jake Evans. Go Habs Go - We need a win tonight to stay in the playoff hunt and a win on Saturday to keep Calgary out of the playoffs. tomh009
Habs 16-12-4 at home, Oilers 17-11-2 on the road. Let's see whether the boys can play well enough to deal with a stronger team.

Habs Fan in Edmonton
Great picture of Evans. Will the Oilers continue their slide or will they be cranky after getting smoked at home by Anaheim. We will see.

DON
11 shots, just 1 from the defense. Smart to follow up on the rebound on his goal. Big 5-on-3 PK.
BCHabnut
That Draisaitl self high stick was awesome. Might have been the angle, but it looked like he grabbed galleys stick and lifted it toward his head.

DON
10 Thoughts: Habs Gain Ground in OTL to Oilers – HabsWorld.net "Savard and Evans were monumental as the Canadiens were able to kill a 5-on-3 chance for one of the top power plays in the league. It was an important kill as soon after, Caufield intercepted a pass in the neutral zone. "Hutson delivered a perfect pass and Armia was able to release a one-timer that beat Skinner." "After an excellent overtime period that saw chances at both ends of the ice..."
Commandant
The Habs are one point out of playoff spot. Unless they get a vet centre in the next 10 minutes (or whatever time after the deadline) Beck isn't likely to play in Laval until the Habs are out of the playoff race. He's needed in Montreal. even if its around 8-10 minutes a night.
DON
How a Canadiens loss to the Oilers demonstrates their predicament before the trade deadline - The Athletic "...Over the final 15-odd minutes of regulation time, there was only a little under 4 1/2 minutes when the Oilers did not have at least Connor McDavid or Leon Draisaitl on the ice, if not both of them. St. Louis does not have the final change, and he was not going to expose Beck to that — or Laine, for that matter. The score was tied, the 2 points were important, and so Beck and Laine sat." “I was trying to get (the Beck line) out there when they were coming off, and then sometimes I got an opportunity and there was a whistle right away. You don’t want to expose a young centre like that.”
