The WHL'ers all had strong nights yesterday:

- Bozon: 2 goals, 2 assists, +3

- Dietz: 2 assists, +2

- Thrower: 1 assist, +1

Brady Vail was held pointless but he played on the 2nd defence pairing instead of up front. Now that's versatility.

Sebastian Collberg signed a new contract with Frölunda. Club release does not specify period. One year is assumed.

Its not a big deal even if its longer, since there is a transfer agreement with Sweden, Montreal could buy him out of any Swedish contract if he makes the Habs.

The KHL deals, with no transfer deal, are more problematic.

In other news, Darren Dietz has brought his +/- back to -10 on the season after a +4 in a 5-4 win yesterday.

  • 2 weeks later...

A mid-game injury forced Brady Vail into playing defence once again for roughly half of Windsor's win tonight.

Darren Dietz is having a strong game so far with a goal and an assist in the 2nd period. His goal (17th) puts him one shy of the league lead for goals by a defenceman. He's also +16 in February...and there's still nearly 2 weeks to go.

Watched Bozon's game against the Vancouver Giants last week. Really skilled, makes his own space, goes to the front of the net (almost scored one of the goals that game but the guy infront of him deflected it first). Couple other things. While someone should tell him what finishing a check means... he is sneaky along the boards, doesn't "fight" for the puck but just kinda picks it out from guys feet and skates away with it. Solid game for him but all in all I believe he only got the one assist.

13 straight wins for Saskatoon.

3 assists and a +2 for Dietz, who is now just -1 on the season.

That was quite the 3rd period for the Blades. I checked the score before I shut the computer off last night - it was 1-1 and Dietz was -1 at the time. He now sits tied for 4th in the WHL for points by a defenceman while also tying his career high in points from last year in 12 fewer games.
