dlbalr
Dietz's goal gives him the WHL lead for goals by a d-man with 11. Also, a note on Danny Kristo who recently picked up his 50th career NCAA goal. He is the only player in the NCAA to have at least 50 goals and 80 assists. dlbalr
If the Habs want to sign Magnus Nygren, it looks like they may have to pony up. Not only has his club team already offered an extension, but KHL and NLA teams are also reportedly going to be trying to sign him for next year as well. Holy crap, Dietz was a +3! maybe he aint a lost cause yet? Bozon collected 1 more point. Yes Kristo has 11 points in last 5 games and on pace for his best year. My hope for him to get 25 goals is unlikely to happen, but 20 is realistic for sure. Not a big surprise Nygren attracting attention and at least Habs are not lacking d-men, so wouldnt be a huge loss/delay.
dlbalr
Holy crap, Dietz was a +3! maybe he aint a lost cause yet? He is +1 overall over the past 6 weeks so he's coming around. He lives on the PP (8/11 goals) which hurts his +/-. Hopefully by the end of the year he can get that negative to single digits. He's a raw project d-man but despite the ugly -18 rating on the season, I still think he can be a useful prospect for sure.

There seem to be many offensive d-men in juniors who rack up the points (Ryan Murphy), but are just too much a defensive liability or lack the hockey IQ, to ever make the big league. But Dietz can skate, handle the puck, shoot and hit well, so who knows. Looks like Nygren has finally learned to play in own end at 22. If the coach is all about run and gun and likes barn burners because he believes his team can outscore the others then you might not see a positive reflection for the teams +/-
DON
Really depends on coaching as well. If the coach is all about run and gun and likes barn burners because he believes his team can outscore the others then you might not see a positive reflection for the teams +/- I have seen several Blade games this year and Dietz has earned his negative rating and would be worse if Makarov didnt bail him out. But again this year Dietz is playing big minutes and the coach seems to let him rush with puck and pinch, so you may have a point for sure. Sportsnet is showing their game this Friday vs Dumba's Red Deer team, 2 equally matched teams. I imagine Thrower and Dumba will both be doing their best Yemelin imitation in the hitting dept. Commandant
Dietz's really bad negative numbers all come from 4 games this season. -6 in a November 24th game vs Kelowna (a 9-2 lossl) -3 in a November 3rd game vs Lethbridge (a 5-4 shootout loss) -2 in a October 5th game vs Swift Current (a 10-1 loss) -3 in a October 3rd game vs Red Deer (a 5-2 loss). Thats -14 of his -18 in just 4 games.

Thats -14 of his -18 in just 4 games. You can slice it up as you like, but he will rush, cough puck up once in a while and boom a 2 on1 or breakaway. Or he will pinch when he shouldnt and get beat like a MAB clone and again, odd man rush-breakaway. But maybe he had been pressing due to shitty start of season and total lack of offense from forwards and now that forwards are scoring a bit more, he seems to be much improved (on paper anyways). But like Beaulieu's "relatively" poor backward skating, which he avoids doing like the plague (similar to Ryan Murphy, e.g. where he got beat by the big russian on winning goal, Beaulieu will be also get burned to the outside by pros, till his all round skating/defensive decision-making improves), all players have weaknesses and these are still just teenagers and lots of time to improve with some coaching/training. But Beaulieu is blessed with athleticism, high offensive "IQ" and puck skills and is still one exciting player to watch play.
DON
Hudon doing well and back injury must of been fairly minor? Archambault still doing OK, but highly doubt will even get a AHL offer, as a 3rd liner/PP specialist on a junior team. Bennett had a good game for Michigan, but that team looked bad and goalie just sucked (even Trouba looked bad, jet lag maybe??). Bennett got clipped by low hit and looked like a serious knee injury; hope not, as his skating is his best assett.

dlbalr
To the surprise of no one, Alex Galchenyuk is a healthy scratch in Sarnia's game tonight. Also, TV alert/reminder, Friday's Saskatoon game (with two Hab prospects, Thrower and Dietz) is on Sportsnet.
DON
Pribyl doing much better this year in Czech men's league; only had 2 pts in 17 games last year, but has 11pts in 27 now. I assume he is likely to be in Hamilton this fall? Bozon got Kamloops only goal yesterday, while Eric Comrie stopped 34 of 35 Kamloops shots and was #1 star again. Commandant
Pribyl would need to be signed this year or would be lost to us and a FA. (Just like Nygren). This is assuming that they fall under the 2 year rule of the old CBA. If it is now a 4 year rule for Europeans, then wed get 2 more years... but I'm not sure if that starts in the 2013 draft or is applied retroactively to 2011 and/or 2012. dlbalr
It wasn't a great night for prospects in terms of point producing but Mark MacMillan provided a nice highlight reel goal at least. http://youtu.be/FtVlgUgheXo
Commandant
Charles Hudon also had a goal (a day after there were some concerns he was injured after missing the last few minutes of a game thursday). Danny Kristo scored a goal for the 6th straight game.

Really nice. The kid has some speed, good hands too. I don't know if he continues to add muscles to his skinny frame. That's important if he wants to have a chance at the upper levels. That's important if he wants to have a chance at the upper levels. A guy who used to work out with MacMillian told me that he works out like a fiend but just can't manage to put anything on. I'm sure that will change with age/maturity.

JCPetit
Make it 7 straight as he scored again tonight. He definitely has the talent. His biggest problem is his attitude. Will he become an adult or remain a teenager? That is the question?
