Collberg got an assist on the double OT winner, their SEL series is tied at 2. He also played over 23 minutes in this one.

How deep into double OT did the game go?

23 minutes isnt a whole lot in a game that long.

For anyone wanting to see Saskatoon's first round of the playoffs, Shaw Cable and Shaw Direct (Channel 299 on SD, not sure of what the cable one is) is carrying the entire first round series. Be warned though, the video quality isn't going to be pretty. That series kicks off tonight.

Speaking of Saskatoon, Darren Dietz was named to the WHL's Eastern Conference First All-Star team. Unfortunately he lost to Toronto's Morgan Reilly for the top d-man award.

Magnus Nygren and Farjestad punched their ticket to the 2nd round of the Elitserien playoffs yesterday He had 3 assists, 6 PIMS, and a +5 rating in the first round.

Daniel Pribyl's playoffs are over after a Game 7 loss yesterday. He was held pointless with 4 PIMS and a -1 rating in 6 games in the series.

Kristo scored a goal but ND was eliminated in the QF of their conference tourney, losing 4-3 in OT

However ND is a virtual lock to get an at large bid for the National title tourney so the season isn't over.

Quick updates:

- Collberg's SEL team has been eliminated, he didn't play in the final game (sick). He is eligible still to play for their junior team if they choose to send him down.

- Bozon had a pair of goals in a 6-4 win for Kamloops yesterday. They lead that series 2-0.

- Mac Bennett's team advanced to the CCHA final with a win yesterday. That championship game can be seen live on The Score (available on most Canadian TV carriers) at 2 PM this afternoon.

Memorial Cup-bound Saskatoon are on the verge of elimination as they are now down 3-0 in their first round series. I wonder if that will get Molleken fired... Dietz had a goal in the loss.

Olivier Archambault had a goal and an assist in a win last night. Despite the W, his Drummondville squad trails their series 2-1.

Charles Hudon had two goals but was a -3 in a 6-3 loss to Quebec; his team now trails 2 games to 1. (He's -5 in the series so far with 4 points.)

Bozon was -2 in a 2-1 loss to Victoria. He also had 12 PIMS in the game (there were 114 between the teams). Kamloops still leads the series 2-1.

Permit me to veer off topic recently but there isn't a general junior hockey thread out there. Watch the following video:

You be the judge. How long of a suspension should that be? 1st time offender for those wondering. Make your guess, then click the 'show' button for the result.

10 games, I kid you not. That somehow deserved 10 games. David Branch can't retire soon enough...

Back on topic, all CHL prospects aside from Bozon are playing again tonight.

Headshots are illegal in the OHL. They take a hard line stance against them. Good for the OHL.

There's a hard line stance and then there's over the top, especially when the damage appears to have been caused by the players' head hitting the ice, not the hit itself. This qualifies as the latter to me although I'm admittedly biased, that's why I posted it here to see if I'm on my own island here. A quick look around some of the junior sites are unanimous that this was overkill.

Saskatoon loses again last night, the Memorial Cup hosts were swept out of the 1st round. All I can say is wow. As this technically doesn't end their season, I don't believe Dietz and/or Thrower could join Hamilton. Hudon and Archambault are one loss away from being eligible to though.

Dietz played well, but team only played 1 good period the whole series

North Dakota will now play Yale tomorrow, the winner will advance to the Frozen Four.

Charles Hudon had 2 goals and an assist in a 3-1 win over Quebec to stave off elimination. That series is now 3-2 Remparts.

Olivier Archambault scored but the Voltigeurs lost meaning their season is over. Archambault is now eligible to join Hamilton. (If he doesn't, it will likely be a sign that they don't plan to sign him by the June deadline...unless he's playing through injury right now of course).

i think Archambault has zero chance of NHL and maybe straight to ECHL at best. He is just a 3rd line soft winger in junior who is good on the PP but that is about it.

Tim Bozon has missed the past couple of games with an undisclosed upper body injury. Today it was revealed that it's not a day-to-day issue but something more long-term.

Sebastian Collberg has been re-assigned to Frolunda's junior team to play in a couple more games before his season ends. His team lost 1-0 earlier today.

Colin Sullivan's college team lost to Union yesterday, ending their run at the NCAA title. He was a healthy scratch for the game. (Josiah Didier's squad was eliminated on Friday for those wondering.)

My morning piece on Danny Kristo

http://lastwordonsports.com/2013/04/01/top-shelf-prospects-time-for-habs-to-lock-up-danny-kristo/

Current situation and a scouting report.

Not an April fools gag.

Cool. Thanks.

Also just saw Brian's link on HW about him winning the College News player of the year award.

Hopefully he gets signed in the very short term.
