that is sad news. great artist, not singer, poet.

Indeed. The great Leonard Cohen. I was in a church on Lake Huron when the choir sang his Halleluia. It was wonderful.. just wonderful. God rest his soul.

Well that was a solid home win for Les Habs tonight!  They tied a team record for 9 straight home wins to start a season, also accomplished back in the 1953-54 season . It was especially impressive considering the Kings usually dominate the Canadiens with their size and physical play.

So right.  A really solid , solid win against a very good competitor. Leonard Cohen must have been in attendance...

So many great songs, he will be missed.

He must have been there in spirit.  A significant loss, since Cohen was an excellent artist crossing different mediums.

About tonight's game, when I first heard about it I thought the move to take out Pateryn was going to backfire, since he has the size to counter the Kings bigger physical forwards. However I'm glad that Hanley had a solid showing with few issues.

An inspiring win with Leonard.

Danault is better than any of us gave him credit for.  Been loving him all year.  He doesn't lose board battles and has untapped offense.

I've defended Davey cause I didn't think we had better options for a #3C.  Danault through 14 games (not just tonight) is now that better option.

Danault has been a very pleasant surprise. He made DD and Eller expendable...

So far

A very sad day. One of the greatest wordsmiths of a century.

I was very happy with the game tonight.  Happy to win, of course.  But also happy to have the shots against in check, and that the overall effort level was much higher than it has been in quite some time.  Based on what I saw, I'd like to see more of the same...that being Desharnais in the pressbox rather than on the ice, until one of the other bottom 6 centers underperforms and is in need of a wake-up call.  I hope this ushers in a new era of accountability no matter if you're a veteran or a young player on this team, and that the result is that guys don't take nights off anymore.  I could get used to seeing more efforts like tonight's from this team. :)

Hanley and Beaulieu were the worst two players on the ice tonight.... When they were on the ice the kings controlled play.

When they were on the bench the Habs DOMINATED.

i'd put Pateryn back in.

Most of those guys are not third-liners. They're first or second liners put further back to get some scoring balance. (Which I suppose is fair to say about Desharnais, too. He's a decent second line center. What he is not is a first line center.)

It's like Evgeni Malkin. Technically, he plays on Pittsburgh's second line. However, on 25 other teams, he'd be their first line center. The fact is Pittsburgh has 2 first line centers.

i think we will find out soon enough about Davy. Will LV even take a shot at him? Don't see him getting protected and/or another contract from Montreal.

I guess if got to think negative, id sit Beaulieu, who was the worst d-man on that pairing and let Hanley play his natural side vs Wings. He drew a penalty, had no major gaffs, kept it fairly simple and seems a fairly quick skater.

Price had Kings shaken their heads all game and just another super performance (9-0-0 1.56 .953%) .

Nice to see Danault & Carr score, play well and Andrighetto had couple scoring chances at least.

38 points from the d-men is pretty good production.
