Desharnais might be a lightning rod for hate, but let's be fair that most of the "Desharnais as #1 wtf?!?" hoopla was that fans felt Galchenyuk was so obviously more deserving of the #1 spot for so long. With the deadline less than six weeks away, this call-up is a big chance for him to show he can be a regular player (even as a fourth liner) and his first couple of games weren't particularly good.
