Respectfully, at 33 he likely will WANT as much term as possible as this is may be his last shot at a big-ish contract ... with 16g/54pts in 67 games so far this season he will get some decent offers; although only 1/9 in 15 games with Dallas (a bit below his SJS pace for goals, about same for assists) ... might Laine be able to help attract him? With Slafkovski-Caufield-Demidov-Laine, do they need a winger? Who knows if Granlund is staying, alot of $$ going to Rantenan, can they afford him? Granlund feels like a pure rental since they're using Seguin's LTIR to pay for him this year while Oettinger, Rantanen, and Johnston have major raises coming for next season already. (They're already over $90M in spending.) I can't see them bringing him back. I think they'll try to keep Duchene on another team-friendly deal if they can free up some money beforehand. tomh009
Granlund might like a long-term contract but what team would be willing to sign him for four or five years at this point?

Both Duchene and Granlund can play center or wing. Granlund plays all three and Duchene plays center and right wing… but he’s most often a center. Last game (and many games prior) Granlund played wing and Duchene center.

Commandant
I'm warming to this, especially since Granlund is left handed. Has to be max a 3 year deal though. And he's likely a winger and on the third line by the end of the contract, as you continue to look for the long term solution, as well as hoping for Hage or Kapanen or someone else to challenge him internally. Butterface
Good results with Calgary losing…..Wolf getting thumped….. Blue Jackets being bested. Now we have to hope Calgary can tread water and beat the Rangers. Blue Jackets struggle vs. Florida. Detroit struggles vs. Washington. Pittsburgh beats Isles. Habs get a win in regulation vs. Sens. Hutson pads his stats. I’m not asking for much. Have to check Proline for the odds on that parlay.
