tomh009
Maybe keeping Dvorak on a short-term contract would make more sense than a big-money UFA on a seven-year deal?
Butterface
We need a 2C … not more 3 & 4 Cs. We have to fix that second line before Demidov shows up. Hughes will hopefully get the job done. We’ll see.

No, its time for one of Beck or Kapanen to take the spot. While I was against them being both the 3c and 4c, one of them has to be integrated now. Its a camp battle for who. Prime Minister Koivu
Yeah Montembault made 3 or 4 big time saves at the end. Habs played a good game. Ottawa on Tuesday is going to be a fun game

The Chicoutimi Cucumber
Just a very well-played game by the Habs. That's how you do it. And the goalie was there with breathtaking saves in the pinch. I notice the Habs first line is finally getting critical mass in terms of recognition by the commentators. I guess when your C is leading the league in points since the break, it gts their attention. Commandant
Call me when the other goalie has played a full season and has been scouted by opponents. Montrmbault has been solid since he got here. Nearly 4 seasons now.
sbhatt
That was a well played game against a good team tonight. Caufield stayed hot, Laine did his thing on the PP, Nick and Slaf both got a point, and Hutson got another assist to continue his assault on the rookie D-man record book. That checks all of the boxes for me.

DON
15 shots. Suzuki double-shifting on PP, Hughes needs to find a top six centre before the fall seems obvious. Once again, Montreal’s top line was by far their best with Caufield being a big part of that. Gallagher had no reason to be in the blue paint so for that reason he deserved the penalty. It was a weak call because I’m not even sure Gallagher actually touched Bob

I am almost certain Montreal would have scored anyway (and I would have felt the same way had Florida scored) so that’s what is frustrating but there’s always that we’ll never know scenario which the other side could always argue and why they have the rule in the first place. With that being said, the rule has a little bit too much of a grey area for me.

Who said bias? I said they made shit calls on Heineman and especially missing the trip on Savard. It can be incompetence and not bias and the result of the missed calls still end up being more beneficial for one team than the other. Just cause there is no bias doesnt mean there is no benefit. These players are discovering just what it means to surpass expectations in the bleu, blanc, et rouge. There is no city where hockey success means so much to the community. And I would not be totally surprised if they ride that wave of passion and momentum all the way to the playoffs.

Gallagher was in the crease on his own and more importantly it looked like he made contact with the goalie's stick. I think the goal would have been scored anyway but as much as I hated to see the goal called back, it was the right call. It wasted a ridiculous pass by Nick. DON
Canadiens' smothering of Panthers puts improbable playoff chase in perspective - Sportsnet.ca “I think, from start to finish, it’s one of the best games we’ve played since I’ve been here,” said St. Louis, who became Canadiens coach on Feb. 9, 2022. “The fans spoiled us in the third, and we want to give this to them. It was a great experience for everyone that was in the building tonight and I had a lot of fun in the third with how we carried ourselves and the atmosphere in there. I want us to earn more moments like that.”
