Based on his play so far this season, I'd rate Danault marginally ahead of Pleks, because he at least shows some signs of awareness of how to use his linemates (something Plekanec has never been very good at). Plekanec, meanwhile, no longer has the wheels to play the 'torpedo' offensive game he once did and is now a pure checker. I would add that it's very hard to see how this formula = a Cup champ. Galchenyuk will be mercilessly targeted come playoff time. Its obvious, Plekanec is just saving himself for the playoffs.
zumpano21
How does one best resign Radu? If we sign him now, he gets exposed to Vegas? If we wait until Jul 1, he might go anywhere?

If we wait until Jul 1, he might go anywhere? In Radulov's case, I think we need to resign him now. He seems happy in Montreal, he 's contributing, and I don't mind exposing let's say Mitchell to ensure Radulov stays in Montreal. The impact of losing Radulov is far greater than losing a Mitchell. Another guy in a similar situation will be Markov. I'm pretty quite sure there is no risk of him signing elsewhere during the off-season, it looks like he will play his entire career with us, therefore we could look at resigning Markov only after the expansion draft... however it is still unclear whether the NHL will look at these cases, and if so, what type of penalties team could face. The other option would be t expose Alexei Emelin, and protect Markov, which I personally don't have a problem with if we really have to. Pacioretty-Tavares-Radulov Lehkonen-Galchenyuk-Gallagher Hudon-Shaw-Byron Martinsen-Danault-De La Rose Markov-Weber Jerabek-Petry Sergachev-Benn I've had too much champagne this Mother's Day however if this new roster does not feature Tavares and Radulov less Emelin and Plex then consider me downright pissed. We can dream can't we? I get fuzzy feelings deep inside when I consider what a line with Tavares and Radulov could do and then you use Chucky there with his great shot. It'd be an amzing line...except for the 'Galchenyuk on the 4th line' part ?
