Happy for Bergqvist getting the nod although there's a very good chance it's as the #7.  Montreal is going to have minimal participation at the WJC this year; it's not going to be as fun to follow from that perspective as it has been in recent years.

“He’s a Star in the Making”: Demidov’s Growth, NHL-Readiness Through the Eyes of His KHL Teammates

"Andronov’s words underline how rare it is to find someone who combines raw talent with a genuine eagerness to grow. For Demidov, his openness to learning is as much a weapon as his shot or skating ability."

Heard was speculated that Hage & Sennecke just dont have the strength to consistently win board battles, as main reason they were left off team canada junior team.

Another year of work in weight room and ripping up the NCAA next season, would be great to see before he transitions to pro.

“We Met & Discussed My Game” Ivan Demidov on the Canadiens’ Visit and Playing in the KHL

"I wouldn't say I'm completely satisfied with my season. You can never be 100% happy, but overall, it’s been more or less OK. But I could do better. Physically, I feel good, and I don’t feel the weight of the season on my body; there aren’t any major problems. I don’t even feel much difference between playing in junior hockey and in the KHL. Sure, I had to adjust at first, but now it feels fine.”

Demidov 0pts 3 shots 10:56

Vinny and Hughes watched the game live.

CH: Demidov makes a big visit to Russia | JDM

"... The 19-year-old winger has still amassed six goals and 14 assists for 20 points in 33 games so far in 2024-2025. In front of the Habs' management, Demidov spent nearly 11 minutes on the ice. That made him the third least used skater on his team. He wasn't able to pick up any points in SKA's 3-2 loss, but he did have three shots on goal."

Everyone in that picture looks very uncomfortable

ClickBait30 and others made a big thing of Rotenberg allegedly said SKA was going to have "negotiations" with the Habs' group ... expect it was either a bad translation of Обсуждения (discussions) or if he was interviewed in English then a limited vocabulary.

Hopefully with Hughes and Lacavalier there, Rottencoachberg will actually play Demidov a decent amount.

There was a game last week where Demidov was dressed and in the lineup but sat there on the bench for the entire first period…

What kind of master coaching is that?

Anyway I hope Demidov kills today. Hughes is surely trying to determine if Demidov is NHL ready or if he needs Laval time.

If he’s not ready, that opens a second forward position to fill on the big club.
