The defense is still inexperienced, the second line looks good thus far, goaltending is still a question mark but Montembeault didn't start. But, on the other hand, he saved 8/9 high-danger shots and 12/13 medium ones. Samsonov was only 2/5 for high-danger and 5/7 for medium ones. If the Habs played up, it shows they are capable of doing so. The Habs also have a lot of room to grow as opposed to Toronto being what they're going to be. I'm quite OK coming up with a point out of this, and a demonstration that our forwards can score. Outscoring one of the top teams 4-1 at even strength was a solid opener, we just had no answer to their man-advantage. And I do wish Matthews didn't get his third goal, though.
