Helmethead
Kept the gloves on. That saved him. Wondering if he’s gonna have a bullseye on his back come game 1 though.

What is Toronto going to do, send Reaves after him? Xhekaj rag-dolled Reaves the first time they met last season and Reaves stayed away from him after. Prime Minister Koivu
I expect a BS staged “code” fight with Reaves and I hope that’s the end of it Xhekaj better focus on hockey because a very competent Struble wants his ice time.

Agree, but I'm totally happy with his decision to pound the living snot out of that bum. And I say this thinking the hit probably was unintentional. There *is* a deterrent effect to knowing that if you go after our stars, Xhekaj is coming for you. And that message was definitely sent last night. 3

Respectfully disagree ... for the most part, cheap shot artists / dirty players across the NHL know that staying there depends on their playing "on the edge" and would accept "the message" as the cost of making an NHL salary instead of an AHL salary. Pare was not injured and merely ate a few punches. Its a small price to pay vs getting an NHL job.

If he don't going to fight, why bother being off the ice for 5 min to fight a guy that plays 5min a game??? I'd rather him destroy Nylander, Marner, Matthews, or Tavares with a hard hockey play physical hit.

Totally agree. You do what Nilan said he used to do. Take a cheap shot at a player young to their star player and tell them I'm going to crush you first chance I get because of the weasel you play with.
