I hope to see another (relatively) strong defensive effort. They generally kept Ottawa to the outside. They won’t be able to do that to Crosby, but this PITS team as a whole is obviously on the decline. A strong effort and a W here would be a welcome hint that the OTT game was not a fluke - that we are beginning to put together structurally sound team play, which means we *may* be able to win quite a few games against fellow non-playoff teams.

According to Prime their coverage starts at 7:00. I’m guessing that Prime will have their own pre show and I’m curious about it.

Also curious about who is calling the game

It's John Forslund for PBP.  Colour guys will rotate during the year, there's Jody Shelley and I forget the other one off the top of my head.

It will be interesting to see how everything looks. We use our daughter’s Prime so fortunately I can watch but I’m not sure I would ever subscribe.

IMO prime membership is one of the streaming services that is worth it for its non-steaming benefits. Free one day shipping, with no order amount limit. If you buy a lot from Amazon, the free-express shipping, along with some of the prime day deals (recent prime day deals in Canada are not as good as they used to be) makes it worthwhile. I switch over with Apple, Disney and Netflix from time to time, but the prime membership is the only one I keep on a regular basis.

I have been using Amazon much more lately. The convenience is great but the endless variety of products allows me to get very specific items. Maybe it’s worth it for me.

I agree, my wife doesn't agree until she wants to order something through Amazon which is every couple weeks.

🤣

I buy a lot of books…and while I should hang myself in shame for not supporting my local bookseller, Amazon’s selection and speed of delivery means I get that book in my greedy little bibliophile hands promptly. So yeah, also worth it for me.

In general though, streaming services have become a nightmare, with good shows scattered across multiple platforms which are all pay to play. My brother has cracked this dilemma; he orders the service, binges whatever show he wants, then cancels it. That’s the only way around the rip-off, apart from illegal streams.

We buy a fair amount from Amazon, usually once or twice a month. But in SW Ontario, very close to the Amazon warehouses, even the free shipping usually arrives in 2-3 days. (Prime guarantees free two-day shipping, probably it's next day at times.) So, that's fast enough for us.

That's the same strategy I follow. Amazon own the only one I keep full times every now and than when there is a deal Disney ($1.99/mth) or Apple (free for three months), I'll order when there is new stuff, binge watch and cancel. Netflix is the other one w have lost of the year, but I'll usually cancel

that if I order another streaming service.

challenge for me is being stuck having to keep cable. Where we live, only option is Telus or satellite. The cost of internet alone and the deal offered for a a cable package with unlimited internet from Telus makes it worthwhile to keep cable.

The 'Prime' coverage is really pumping the Habs' tires. 🤷‍♂️ Messier saying Montembault is like Carey Price, and that he 'really likes' our D...Hickey saying he's 'never been so excited' to see a rookie defenceman as Hutson...etc.

I'm a bit surprised by the strong Canadian emphasis ('Happy Thanksgiving,' referring to 'our' national junior team, etc.). I thought this was a big sab at the US market?

What I appreciated the most about the pregame is that they never once talked about the leafs 🎉

Looking at their schedule, almost all the games are from Canadian cities, and all include a Canadian team ... then I realized that makes complete sense since they bought the rights from Rogers ... womder if there was anything in the agreement with Rogers that coverage be Canadian centric?

Not enjoying the common trend so far this season of no offense in the first 10 minutes of the game.  In the last 3 games, I don't believe they've had a shot in the first 10 minutes of each game.  If they have, it's very very few.

I like this play-by-play guy. Good voice and shows some creative flair with language.

All this praise of the Habs made me nervous, and sure enough, this has been an insipid effort so far. Much closer to the TO/BO games than the Ottawa game so far.

Rogers only owns the Canadian rights. And, yes, as I understand it, Prime only has the Canadian rights (purchased from Rogers) to the Monday night national games.

What the hell was Anderson doing there? Hutson is moving it forward. Instead of getting the puck out Anderson shows his zero hockey s sense. He should get an assist on that Pittsburgh goal😡
