  1. I am starting to like this new core better than the old one

  2. He is on pace for 43/44 goal season in a 82 game season ... thus far this season is an outlier ... doesn't mean he can't do it again, just that he never has ... hopefully he has finally landed in the right situation and can be a consistent 35-40 goal scorer (or better) ... if so his contract is a ridiculous bargain ...

  3. I don’t know that four games for a first NHL goal is all that long! 😀

  4. GOAL CAUFIELD Nice comeback, happy with the result and all...but, geez: if they have even HALF of the effort level they showed in the last 18min of that game from the beginning, it's not even close.

  5. You expose Weber, or try to move him.

  6. Petry is far more than a #3. He's been the #1 on this team for two years, and is better than pretty much any D in this division outside of Hughes and Giordano. He's absolutely a #1. He's not the best d in the league, but he's in the top 15. As for mistakes, every D has them. Every d has slumps. Every D has brain cramps. And Petry's are not every other game.

  7. No, I’m saying that having both guys in their prime would be amazing! Just a “fantasy” thought. Sergachev is no Markov, but that trade continues to cripple the organization structurally, rather as the Gomez trade did. So frustrating.

  8. Agree, but good luck with that. We had a chance to draft Hughes and went with KK. Now we need a miracle pick like finding PK Subban in the second round (and of course, lots of fans could not crap on Subban enough even when he was lighting it up spectacularly night after night). Petry is certainly in the top-30 of NHL defencemen and is therefore technically a #1 d-man. Sure, he’s not perfect, but few are. By calling him a #3 you are looking a gift horse in the mouth IMHO

  9. 100% coincidence, he looks ready for retirement...from what i have seen so far, give me Poehling, Teasdale or some other kid for 4th line wing instead.

  10. Agreed, catching the Oilers is a bit unrealistic. I just want to make sure the Habs are in the playoffs. As has been mentioned, it's great to see Suzuki playing so well again. He is such an important piece for the Habs.

  11. I got to write about a win - I forgot what that felt like, it had been so long... https://www.habsworld.net/2021/05/caufield-gives-the-habs-a-victory-over-ottawa/

  12. Well, the Jets could start winning again and over take the Oils leaving the Habs still in 4th facing the Leafs 1st rnd. I want the Habs to avoid playing the Leafs 1st rnd.

  13. I almost want the Flames to win tonight because they are unlikely to catch the Habs so I'd rather see the Habs gain on the Oils. If the Oils lose enough of their games its still possible for the Habs to finish 2nd in the div.

  14. If one has terrible vision, it was even more beautiful. I thought Petry put the puck between his own legs prior to the pass at first glance.

  18. True ... but his in-laws live within a couple of hours fo Seattle and I believe they spent the abbreviated offseason with them ... so open never knows for certain

  19. Hmm, interesting. I like that a lot. They've started to do an across ice pass thing in the offensive zone and then shoot. You know vs the endlessly pass the puck around the outside back n forth thing they typically do.

  20. Bit worried about Ottawa's speed taking advantage of the long change this period.

  21. Uh?! "In Brandon Montour, the Panthers get a solid depth defenceman who can consistently shoulder over 20 minutes of ice time. This season has not been Montour’s best, although Sabres’ overarching struggles are likely contributing to his performance. " https://lastwordonsports.com/hockey/2021/04/10/buffalo-sabres-trade-brandon-montour-to-panthers/ Playing with Weer, he should be able to play 2nd pair minutes and contribute more offensively than Chiarot. or a solid 3rd line RD (he shoots right) Forbort can be had and may be a better 3rd pairing LD than what we have. Others coming up for a contract: Pionk, Pelech, Dunn
