Habber
All is not bad ....Claude Julien and the devils won AGAIN! Still showing up our organization for siding with the sucks Theodore and Ribero. Then again we would rather see the habs lose 4-0 than win 1-0. Nilan
I have to say just when I finally began to believe this year was different they respond with their regular mid season collapse. It is definitely frustrating to watch. They get outworked and outshot almost every game and they are no longer winning those games. We lived off Huet, Higgins, Koivu, Souray, Markov and special teams all year. And the second their production dipped nobody else has stepped up. Kovalev, Samsonov have done nothing. When the special teams struggle, the 5 on 5 has not gotten us off the hook. Aebischer has had ample opportunity to raise his game and push Huet and he continues to make 2-3 spectacular saves to offset his 2-3 brutal goals per game. They have used up their cushion and now sit 7 points from missing the playoffs. They play Atlanta on the road, Buffalo at home and then Ottawa who is flying and Toronto who we have struggled with all season. This season we are not even competing, during our streak last season we were blowing late leads or suffering 3rd period meltdowns but signs of life were there. This season I see no fire. No accountability. It definitely worries me. Last season we had the option of firing the coach, and turning over the reins to Huet. This season we will not fire the coach and Abby is not the answer. So either this bunch of players take some responsibility for their actions or Gainey is going to have to make a deal. We'll see what happens but this streak is getting to long to ignore. frankly, not a lot of deals to be made here. going into feb or march, you're either a seller or a buyer. no one's going to take our crap off our hands for a star. reality is, bob is going to have to decide if he wants to dump salary for youth, or trade youth for a quick/potential fix from a team that wont make the playoffs. i would hope he doesnt trade our youth for a quick fix. this is not the year. continue to stregthen. im very sad to say that our main trade assets are souray and ryder, maybe rivet for a team looking for playoff size... Pierre the Great
Guys seriously settle down its just a losing streak. Every team goes through this during the year. I rather have the team go through a losing streak now then lets say at the end of the season. On the Canucks one worry Luongo. The guy is money but gosh he's played every single game except 5 games. Worried of Burnout.

Chris
Well that's 2 and a half hours i'll never get back. I did like Lats again tonight, although he should shoot more. Downey and lapierre had a few hits. Did anyone win a 1 on 1 battle tonight? As i feared, Murray being realesed didn't help. My vote Souray and Kovalev benched Thursday. My list of players not to trade seems to be getting smaller now too. Ther good news is with each loss, they climb higher in the draft order. Habstown
Losing straight is fine... all teams go by it... but losing with so many shutouts in the past few weeks! It becomes a huge problems... guess it's time to push the panic button and shake the team with trade not just switch line! Great that I haven't been following these game closely lately must be so frustrating

It's what Luongo does. He's been in the top 3 in minutes played each of the last three seasons. He has the durability and endurance of Marty Brodeur. JMMR
You know what guys. The habs should go back to the line-up that was winning now that everyone is back Koivu with Ryder and Higgins Plekanec with Kovalev and Samsonov Bonk with Johnson and Perezhogin and because Begin is out Lapierre with Streit and Latendresse. I know Latendresse is doing well but he can still get powerplay time. This was the line up that was winning and it may be just what the doctor ordered to get them out of this funk. kaos
wow a shut out for Luongo when he spent the night in a hospital and had an IV hooked up to him. impressive. Not as impressive as when you see the opposition.....Montreal looks like a bunch of school girls right about now. I fear the Claypit Clippers more than I fear the Montreal Canadiens if I'm any of the other 29 other NHL teams. I salivate when Montreal comes to town, or go to Montreal to play them...they are weak

Pierre the Great
Habs will be fine they're just going through a down trend at the moment. They went through the same down trend last year in December. This time though they aren't going to fire the coach again.

That's a pretty good idea... Except would you put the second line together when they didn't work before??? or would you try moving one player off it and a new player on it... I don't know who, but then the line up would be almost the same as when they were winning, minus the obviously failing second line... ShortHanded
Bonk Johnson Samsonov Kovalev Perezhogin Plekanec Hmmm... yeah, maybe ... do you think Perogie can handle the centering? That's a lot of work. I know he's sound defensively, but wouldn't you be more comfortable with Plex in the middle on that line? I do want Perogie and Kovy on the same line. Perogie has great speed, and he can go to the net, and pretty good shot. He's really honed his game defensively, but he hasn't been given many chances to shine offensively this season, and playing with this combo might give him that. Last season, at the very start before the prolonged slump, we saw Kovy Koivu Perogie and Perogie was actually quite impressive offensively, so why not try Kovy and Perogie together again? Plex could be the "keep it simple" guy on that line... I'm not so sure about Sammy with Bonk and Johnson. Obvs, Bonk and Johnson can play together, but I don't know about all of them together... Maybe Sammy becomes the "dangerous offensive" player on that line. And I did want to try Bonk between Kovy and Sammy earlier (before I had TOTALLY given up on the second line). Bonk is good enough to do the Offense and the Defense. Johnson's fantastic too. And at the very least, even if they can't get anything going offensively with Sammy, I don't think they would be a liability as a line defensively. I would give htis a try if I were Carbo, so now it's: Higgins Koivu Ryder (I may have the sides wrong ) Kovy Plex Perogie Johnson Bonk Sammy Lats Lapierre Streit / Downey (until Begin gets back, then you put Streit on D or as a powerplay / pk specialist, scratch Downey, and put Begin back in. We NEED his hustle)...
