brobin
Good news, imo. If his leg has healed and he can skate (at least as slow as last year), then I hope Gainey signs him to a low cost contract. Lang would make a nice 3rd line guy / 5-3 PP specialist. It would also give us some depth up the middle.

KidRock
Link needed http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=488878 Not sure if this works....if not not, its on NHL.com under 'sleeper' article
habs rule
http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=488878 Not sure if this works....if not not, its on NHL.com under 'sleeper' article I agree it would be a great idea but I don't know how much faith you put in a fantasy league prognostigater. We don't have any idea if he just thinks that or actually has some source. If Jacques or Bob sez it then I am on the bandwagon.
blaze53
I'd love for him to come back to the Habs if he's in tip top shape, but the source is pretty much bleh lol
Psycing
I won't believe it until I see it, but I'd love for Lang to come back and continue where he left off. Personally, I think he'd even make a good candidate for Captain if things really pan out... but of course I don't think anyone see's him sticking around too long so getting a Captain in who does appear to be a Canadien for a long time might be a better option. dlbalr
Sounds like this may not be happening (yet at least): Meanwhile, you can discount the rumours that Robert Lang has been offered a tryout. The Canadiens insist it hasn't happened, but Lang is only a phone call away. http://www.montrealgazette.com/sports/Cana...0930/story.html

hockeyche
Forget him in the Habs. He will not be at the training camp, it would be REALLY surprising. His Agent said he wont be there and he is talking to 6 interested teams at the moment. Something his going to happen in his case in the next week

How awesome is this, "Caledon Teen Ranch is a not for profit, Christian organization ... dedicated to the training of young men and women in the physical, mental, spiritual and social aspects of their lives." There is hope for this team! I'm praying for these guys! GO HABS GO! YAHOO! mats

BCHabnut
I'd say it isn't awesome for the non-Christians... Chances are the facility is just run by Christians. The likelyhood of the team going to bible camp is low. Just a team building place to go that's close to Tarana, where they play their last game. simonus
Looks pretty christian to me... I'd definitely feel uncomfortable at a place like that.
JoeLassister
Looks pretty christian to me... I'd definitely feel uncomfortable at a place like that. It's not like the Habs players will get into some Christian reading before going to sleep... they will be there for smooth practices and building team spirit and chemistry. habs rule
it is a training facility for Christians when there are Christians there. Right now it is being leased by the habs as a training facility whatever they do there the rest of the year is immaterial. Colin
Maybe St. Patrick will attend. Hey, they can nail him to the cross like the fans did when he mockingly waved at them after they mocked him!!!
matsnaslundsuperfn
Well I guess I should first apologize for steering this thread off its intial course. Secondly I guess I could have been a little more specific about why I was so excited in the first place. I don't mind the responses given out. Guess I should be praying for all of you as well. Anyhow, what I'm excited about is that someone in the organization has thought to put these players into a retreat type situation where perhaps spirituality could be discussed and maybe bring there glamourous lives into a bit of perspective along with the team building and such. Hey after the mess of last season this could be a profound experience for them which could carry throughout the rest of the year. Where religion is concerned, yes I do hope that my team searches out a spiritual identity Jesus loves them just as much as He loves you and me... that is why the cross. Anyhow how's Lang's ankle anyone? I'm done. Thanks for reading. Mats.
The-Habby2919
No worries about where this thread went Mats. Everyones opinion is welcome here so long as its not critical or harmful. And I dont think anybody has officially welcomed you to the boards yet, so... Welcome to HabsWorld Mats! :hlogo:
saskhab
I'm just surprised/disappointed no one has referred to it as the Habs taking their players to detox, considering all that happened last year.
Chris
All the players who needed detox were not brought back. There lack of leadership, character made them expendable. Carey Price is probably the only on left who fits the bill in literally needing detox. Maybe the summer did him well. I just want some of the new vets to say the party is no officially over, hard work and dicipline are the expectation now. NO MORE BS. Habsfan
Carey Price is probably the only on left who fits the bill in literally needing detox. How about the Kosty brothers?? Maybe not Andrei, but Sergei was a party animal as well!
