Happy Canada Day and Happy Free Agent Day. In about 3 hours, the craziness will begin.

Early reports suggest the Habs are a strong contender to bring back Dale Weise and that they're not likely going to get Ladd, Brouwer, Eriksson, Lucic, or Nielsen (based on Dreger's tweets).

Any Hab signings can get their own thread, we'll keep the rest in here.

Happy Canada Day from 30,000ft! On our way to Florida with the kids.

Hope we get a shiny new toy to make Hab fans a little happier.

Darren Helm - 5 years, $3.85M per year with Detroit. So it's going to be one of those types of free agent days... That's a bad contract.

Will our favourite rival in Hogtown sign a good UFA?

Pretty quiet so far.

We've still got 30 minutes to go!

Backes to Bruins

Too bad. I was hoping for Backes/Perron on the second line.

I don't like it either but I get the feeling he won't do much. Possibly because he's on the Bruins. He will be a good leader for them though, but hopefully his point totals are on the decline.

Weise to Flyers. Thanks God

Once his pal Subban left, so was his desire to play in MTL I bet.

Okposo to BUF - another 7 year deal.

Interesting that Lucic had lots of talks with Montreal and seriously considered signing here

Glad he didnt, cannot stand the guy.

And a point he made was because of the trade that was made. However I don't think I could stomach cheering for that big dumb ape on the Habs

I live in LA, well Long Beach, and I can say that having watched him here on the Kings, one thing about Lucic is that it seems he has the ability to adapt his style of play based on team he is playing for. I think the player we saw in Boston was a combination of Lucic the player, as well as the Boston Bruins mentality.
