Trizzak
I swear Galchenyuk is playing center right now. Pacioretty - Danault - Shaw is getting it done.

Guest Stogey24
Good for Gallgher. Hard work paying off Chucky looks good too 6 times in the last 7 games price has aloud 4 or more goals. Yikes

Well, the better part of half the roster has changed since Subban was dealt so it's hard to imagine those players would be playing to get a GM fired based on him trading a player they never played with. 12 hours ago, The Chicoutimi Cucumber said: Well...it *is* interesting that he slumped and got MT fired, then rebounded. At this point, I'm starting to wonder... I have a hard time thinking Price wants the guy that gave him $84 million just four months ago to be fired already. sbhatt
Price being garbage for this long is serious cause for concern, and it has gone on long enough that he's used up any leeway he's earned for all the times he carried the team in years past. Carey is going to be taking a lot of deserved heat from here on out if he doesn't get his head out of his ass.

illWill
Even though it was "only" 6-3, that was one of the worst games I've seen the Habs play in a long time. The team is totally out of sync and Price is playing like he was a rookie. My rec league team looks better out there, at least we can make a pass. Send these guys on a retreat or something to build some chemistry

JoeLassister
Price looks drunk out there. Between pushing twice for a single lateral move and bumping into his post getting back in front of the net after a turnover he created, I don't recognize him at all. Mark Montour
When you watch the replays from last night's game, the body language Carey Price is showing is that he doesn't really care anymore. IMHO He's wasting his prime years in Montreal. The defense is not helping him at all. They're allowing the opposing forwards to walk in right on him. No wonder he's smashing sticks on the goalposts! Price may want to go on a contending team that has a real chance for a Cup run because the way this defense is playing, you can just forget about it. Get a goalie who cares because this guy has had it with Montreal.

If he is so fed up with Montreal why in gods name would you sign a contract like that? Which pretty much takes any ability away to move him especially when you consider his recent play. The Chicoutimi Cucumber
I didn't seriously mean to suggest that Price is playing to get the GM fired. The tricky thing is that, because his only other extended period of suckage in recent years did indeed occur when he was revolting against his superiors (Therrien), there *is* that possibility. I'd rate it as maybe a 10% chance. And incidentally, it is possible to be committed to a city and even an organization while concluding that the team's management is garbage and needs to go. Every fan on this site who hates Bergevin is proof of that. So Price's contract does not automatically conflate to an endorsement of MB/CJ. IMHO. Price has been committed to Montreal through ups and downs ever since he first arrived, and may have been willing to lock in while still reserving judgement on Bergevin, or still being prepared to give up on MB based on what he did or didn't do during the summer. It's probably more likely that he is shocked and confused at the calbre of the defence in front of him, and not reacting well. Like some commentators, he may have expected the D to be better than it's actually turning out to be. This might explain some of the body language and the weirdly drawn out nature of his slump. (Usually Price's dips in performance are nowhere near this bad, and only last for 3-4 games). Of course the most likely explanation is just that he's lost confidence. The thing with this is that Price is such a superior goaltender that the thought of him suddenly getting the 'yips' and losing his mojo seems rather unbelievable, a bit like Connor McDavid suddenly forgetting how to make plays at speed. When we explore other explanations besides this one, we're basically paying him a supreme compliment - i.e., that he's so good, he's above serious slumps of this kind, and that such a slump requires a special cause.

Commandant
Also is this fanbase (not necessarily here) but on twitter going to freak out at every loss. They dug a hole, yes. They won 2/3 games. If they win 2/3 games from here to the end of the season, they will be a top team in the league. They aren't going to dig out of the hole with a 15 game winning streak. Losses will happen. You just have to consistently win more than you lose.

Said he looks like someone who realized that this team is not as good as he though it would be and doesn’t see the team as having a real chance at the cup. He did say he has no doubt that price will return to form, but it does look like a guy who doesn’t think can realistically compete for the cup. He did say he has no doubt that price will return to form, but it does look like a guy who doesn’t think can realistically compete for the cup. That's a really dumb thing to say but he does work for the media. If Price will bounce back, then he hasn't mentally checked out. If he doesn't bounce back, it's probably indicative that he was struggling this season, rather than having mentally checked out. Even the greatest players will have off seasons or stretches by their standards. In the recent past, Price has always had to be the man. There have been many seasons where if we were going to win the cup, it was going to have been because of him. I'm not a huge fan of the team put together in the off season but Price's play itself has been one of the main contributors to our poor start and so rather than looking outward and blaming others (in the scenarios presented but tanguay), maybe he should do a little introspection and remind himself that he himself needs to be better if the Habs are to have a shot at winning the cup. If Price were thinking that was, which he isn't, he would be basically saying he has no faith in himself.
