dlbalr
Ondrej Palat signed in New Jersey (5 yrs, $6m) - I guess that was their backup plan for Gaudreau.
Habsfan89
There's a lot of good RFA's out there. Wonder who gets an offer sheet first.

Neech
The Suzuki contract looks better by the day. On the other hand, our millstone deals look harder and harder to move.

Not many teams have enough cap (and budget) space to offer sheet a player at a level that will make their current team hesitate to match. If you think there will be one this year, I'd nominate Nicolas Roy and Nic Hague from Vegas as candidates although Roy could file for arbitration and take himself out of the mix in a few days. But the Golden Knights are still in iffy territory cap wise which makes them vulnerable.
Commandant
Calgary should offer sheet Laine for shits and giggles.

Benn can play the right side which is what they needed to replace Lyubushkin and the two play similar styles. Mete - who is probably AHL-bound - is just extra depth. tomh009
$750K each so not expensive, but it looks like they are headed to the Marlies?

They are the 8th and 9th defencemen right now. In no particular order.... Rielly, Sandin, Lillegren, Muzzin, Brodie, Giordano, Holl, are the top 7. I don't see Benn or Mete displacing any of them. That said the contracts are fine and they can sit in the press box or AHL. The leafs can afford a high paid guy in the AHL (750 K in that league is a lot). Most certainly, would be a great add for a contender at the deadline, expiring contract, Anaheim eats 50% of it. Unless of course Anaheim is a contender but they are likely not ready yet. They are in rebuild more.
