DON
Hoffman in for Pitick, Wideman in for Kov... Allen starting
Prime Minister Koivu
Not like Pitlick was tearing it up but I was hoping to not see Hoffman again. Cowen has Edmundson on RD so I’m curious how he does. Xhekaj struggled at times on the right
dlbalr
Edmundson played RD a lot last game as the Xhekaj experiment didn't last long. I wouldn't be surprised to see Harris see some RD time as well though.
The Chicoutimi Cucumber
Pitlick took stupid penalties last game and deserves to sit.
TurdBurglar
I just wanna say how impressed I am with Guhle and Harris. Not only did they manage to stay with the team coming out of training camp, each are over 20 minutes a game on average.
DON
gonna be a tough one, i think. But Vegas is due to lose one.
Sir_Boagalott
What a pass by Dach. I don't know how Cole got that pass though because it certainly looked like the 2 Vegas players could have intercepted it but somehow didn't.
dlbalr
A pretty close period all in all. I'll take that. It'd be nice to see some other line score soon though, they can't rely on that top trio this much.
Prime Minister Koivu
What a great period 🎉 Caufield does so many great things all over the ice that helps the team. Harris looks even better at RD I want that Suzuki line responsible for two goals a game. I prefer Kovacevic over Wideman This team is so much fun to watch
DON
4 shots for Caufield, nice. Great to see Edmundson get to hit some folks.
IN THE HEARTS OF MEN
All 4 lines are skating tonight

They had decent zone entries and good possession in the first half, but Vegas kept their shots to the outside. That 1-0 goal really opened up the play in the second half, and the Habs got more dangerous as well.
tomh009
Did anyone see what happened to Dvorak? I think he missed the middle 10 minutes of the period -- was he shaken up by one of his shot blocks?

Sir_Boagalott
Dare I say it ... Hoffman was looking good in the 1st. I've seen numerous Habs do that slap flick pass that Marty showed them in practice earlier in the week, but 1 of them worked out bad. Marty forgot to tell them that when they are in the other teams zone and out by the blue line it isn't the time to try that pass.
Prime Minister Koivu
Vegas pretty much crushed us that period. Slafkovsky is showing more and more every game. He needs a bit of a promotion. Dach looks great in all areas of the ice. Hoffman with PK duty…?
tomh009
They were on the ropes for the first 15 minutes ... somehow they turned it around for the last five.

I guess they're trying with him what they were doing with Dadonov earlier - see if they can get him thinking a bit more defensively while if he does okay, it could help his value a bit. (So would scoring but if he could kill penalties, his value would go up.)

tomh009
I really don't understand the logic of the Pietrangelo/Anderson/Slafkovsky penalties ... if two guys jumping on and pummeling an opposing player is not fighting, what is?
TurdBurglar
So, the Josh Anderson hit should beckon an interesting reaction from the NHL, it won't because they don't make rules to follow them. He did hit Pietrangelo from behind, so a penalty major or minor is completely deserved, they gave him 5 and a game, again, deserved. No suspension because player safety values injuries over actual acts. Now, the interesting part, Pietrangelo jumps up, tosses off his gloves and punches Anderson at least twice. For one, that's a fighting major, or roughing for 2 at the bare minimum, which is what he did get. On top of that, there was a rule change about unwilling participants in fights getting a suspension. Anderson was clearly unwilling, so Pietrangelo should be suspended.
Prime Minister Koivu
Anderson gonna get suspended? Good game for the tank Caufield scores, two for Suzuki, three assists for Dach and Slafkovsky fires home another one. Despite the score, Allen was outstanding
johnnyhasbeen
At least we are scoring goals.....now that Price isn't around to close the door at our end.

But it wasn't called as fighting so it won't be subject to that rule; the league can't go back and change the call from roughing to fighting to then apply the rule.
