Demidov didnt play today, 1-0 loss.

Remarkable to lose a 1-0 game and refuse to play your star player, despite being dressed and on the bench, for the entire game.

Overt political nonsense

3 months to go in that clown 🤡 organization for Demidov then his life is going to change in a big way

Ivan Demidov will feel bad for Arber Xhekaj and Mike Matheson
By Marc-André Dubois on 2025-03-08

The arrival of Ivan Demidov in Montreal could well cause an unprecedented malaise in the Canadiens' locker room. Imagine a player so talented, so technically superior, that he comes to feel bad about humiliating his own teammates in training.

This is exactly what is happening in Russia at the moment, where Demidov, out of respect for his teammates at SKA St. Petersburg, avoids overdoing it, to the point of curbing his own talent.

His teammate, former NHL player Evgeny Kuznetsov, recently said:

"Vanya is an extraordinary player who can turn anything into something special in an instant. He's one of the most talented players I've ever seen in terms of skill and play."

But once in Montreal, Demidov will have no choice: he will have to assume his elite level. And it may be brutal for some...

Demidov is not just a good player. He's a phenomenon, a hockey artist, a player who can ridicule any defenceman with a single move.

In Montreal, Arber Xhekaj, the rough defenceman who is trying to make his mark on the Canadiens, could quickly understand that he simply doesn't stand a chance against the Russian's acceleration and feints.

And what about Mike Matheson, this veteran whose defensive shortcomings are already well known? Matheson is often caught out of position, and Demidov risks making him even more vulnerable.

“One of the Most Talented Players I’ve Ever Seen”: Kuznetsov Praises Canadiens Prospect Demidov

“Vanya is an extraordinary player who can turn nothing into something special in an instant. He is one of the most talented players I’ve ever seen in terms of skill and playmaking. I hope he continues to develop.

Demidov plays @12:30 today

Hage delivers standout freshman year at University of Michigan | Montréal Canadiens

Just as he delivered in a big moment at Wrigley Field in early January, Hage has hit it out of the park in his first year of college hockey. The 18-year-old is second in scoring for the Wolverines—whose campaign now hangs in the balance—and ranks tied for fourth among all NCAA Division 1 freshmen with 34 points in 33 games this season, including four game-winning goals and a shootout decider.

I wonder if throwing a little under the table cash at the GM of SKA Saint Petersburg would get Demidov released the minute his team is eliminated?
