Tony
Mils, you're so biased. You're only picking Ryan Miller as you Conn Smythe candidate because your name is also Ryan Miller. Can you at least pick a GOOD goalie?
rafikz
Ok, let's cut the crap The East will be won by either Ottawa or New Jersey ; unless Di Pietro comes back for the playoffs, it's gonna be those 2 West : 1st round will determine the West champ : Calgary or Detroit
les_glorieux
EAST (1) BUFFALO - 4 (2) NEW YORK - 0 Buffalo is too solid. I don't think New York stands a chance. The goaltending is going to have to be perfect for them to even win a game. Despite his recent good play, Wade Dubielewicz is no match for the most potent offense in the last decade. (2) NEW JERSEY - 4 (7) TAMPA BAY - 2 I might be being a little optimistic about TB winning two. Taking nothing away from the experience, talent level, and drive of this Lightning team, their goaltending is terrible, not to mention that their slumping into the playoffs. (3) ATLANTA - 4 (6) NEW YORK - 2 The goaltending is great in New York, but they're weak defensive core and lack of secondary scoring won't get them past the first round. Altanta has no team experience in the playoffs, but they have plenty of vets to show the supposed "kids" the way. Can Lehtonen peform? Answer: yes. (4) OTTAWA - 3 (5) PITTSBURGH - 4 This one could go either way. The talent level is mostly even up front, the Pens have a weaker defense, and the goaltending is a toss-up. Emery and Fleury have been know to be very immature, but both are capable of stealing games. And don't forget that playoff leadership is always a question in Ottawa. Still, I give this one to Pittsburgh due to the immense pressure on your Ottawa Senators - they will crack again. WEST (1) DETROIT - 4 (8) CALGARY - 2 Kiprusoff can you only take you so far, Flames fans. And against a team that is as stacked with scoring, experience, and goaltending as Detroit is, that point is not very far into the post-season. Iggy's been streaky all year, and Conroy is old. After getting embarrassed by the Oilers last season, don't count on the same thing happening this time. (2) ANAHEIM - 4 (7) MINNESOTA - 3 Anaheim is good. Really good. But so are Minnesota, and they don't get much credit around the league. This series is a tossup, and will likely come down to the Minnesota's goaltending and whether or not it will be able to match Giguere/Bryzgalov. (3) VANCOUVER - 2 (6) DALLAS - 4 Everybody always underestimates the Stars. Luongo's lack of postseason experience will cost Vancouver a game, and the scoring will dry up as Marty Turco will finally exorcise his playoff demons. (4) NASHVILLE - 4 (5) SAN JOSE - 3 Forsberg is a playoff hero, Thornton is not. As solid as San Jose is, I can see Paul Kariya taking his team far this year. Fanpuck33
How come some people picked just 1st round and some all the rounds? Because some of us don't see the point of predicting matchups that may or may not take place. The same reason I can't stand NCAA bracket pools.
