The names I heard that were convincing were Jeff Skinner, Lucas Raymond and Kevin Fiala. I’d argue Demidov is better than them at the same age, though." I've seen numerous analysts discuss Demidov’s skating mechanics and I concluded it is not as bad as some say. Most of it seems to be from Demidov's 1 skating tactic, which is unarguably unconventional. i.e. he likes to do a heel kick maneuver - which looks odd and somewhat awkward. However, when he does that move and kicks his heel he digs that blade into the ice and pushes off and instantly changes direction to the angel his other foot is pointing. Just because he is doing something novel doesn't mean its bad. ex: the 1st goalie to wear a mask was weird, 1st slapshot was weird, 1st slap pass was weird, etc. In the identical sense that heel kick move isn't something Demidov should stop doing because nobody has seen it before. Honestly, I could see Hutson adopting Demidov's heel kick move into his repertoire and I imagine other players will adopt it as well. Colin
Corey Pronman very clearly doesn’t watch the Habs, rather he makes his decisions based on what he hears from other people who don’t watch the Habs.
