TheAussiePosse
I got to give him credit. Gainey has balls! It would not shock me to see a follow up deal to bring in a veteran backup for the last 20 games. BRING BACK STEFAN FISET! OOH, OR JEFF HACKETT! Habsfan
here's what they say on The NHL Line Sources tell TNL the Montreal Canadiens have agreed to terms with the Atlanta Thrashers in a deal to acquire Marian Hossa. Details will be up soon. As we talked about earlier Hedberg may be included in the deal. We are told Montreal Canadiens dealing Cristobal Huet may have been due to the fact that the Atlanta Thrashers wanted to throw in goaltender Johan Hedberg in the deal with Hossa. The Canadiens are closing in on a deal with the Thrashers and it looks like it could be Hossa and Hedberg on the way to the Montreal. Stay tuned. Wamsley01
Foote back to Avs. The 2001 Avs are making a run at the 2008 Stanley Cup. You think Roy and Bourque got phone calls? Very imaginative, who is next Rob Blake?

Wamsley01
Maybe Halak is part of the deal the other way(If true) Lehtonin hasn't been that impressive I hope not. Seeing as Atlanta has Ondrej Pavelec as well I don't think he will be in the deal. But you never know. Don't Sell the Farm Bob!! Unless he is signed of course, then you can sell a little bit of it. Still praying on Olli though Edited February 26, 2008 by Wamsley01

kenadian
Maybe the deal is done, but Bob want to hold of announcing it until closed too the deadline so other teams can't/won't have time to respond.

What would that say for Waddell if they dealt Huet knowing that they were to send Hedberg to Montreal
kenadian
The Montreal Canadiens have not completed a deal yet but an Atlanta source tells us they are extremely close and it looks like unless the Senators made an offer that "knocks the socks of Don Waddell" all signs point to a deal getting done soon. lazy26
Latest from TLN 2:14PM: The Canadiens are still the front-runners in the Hossa sweeps and we are to expect a deal to get done within the next 20 minutes. The Sens are indeed still in this but it's a long shot right now. All signs point to the Habs on this one.

maritimehabfan
With all this waiting it is hard to believe that in just five hours I'll be watching Montreal (on tv) play the Thrashers. With or without Hossa is the question I will surely know by then.
