That I can agree with.

With that said, I still do think it's a numbers game, and because Struble is waiver exempt (like Hutson and Mailloux) and not Barron, he will be sent down to create space for Mailloux. This will provide a more balanced D and hold Barrons feet to the flames. Again, Mailloux is ahead of Barron (not contractually but in performance), evidenced by their deployment for 30 plus games in Laval LY alone.

But we are allowed to arm chair GM our team in preseason and see how it all pans out.

Of course.  I think Mailloux can use the AHL time, you think hes NHL ready.  We disagree.  But we can do that respectfully (and we are) and see how it plays out.

In any event, the team hasnt made a final decision and there are more preseason battles ahead before that decision is made

It's not always clear cut whether a player is ready or not. One thing for sure, Mailloux benefitted immensely from a full year in Laval and I think Reinbacher needs a year there.

I always enjoy listening to interviews with Beck. He is so smart and perceptive about what's going on around him. He doesn't lack maturity that's for sure.

11 fwds and 4d for 55 minutes.

If the refs had done their job it wouldn't have happened like that.

It didn't look like that, just stuck his knee out during a check to try to keep Laine from getting around him.

Yes

But Arber also has to have some discipline too.  Getting kicked out when the team is already down a D doesn't help.

At least wait til third period to go after him.

The thing about this game is it's already a loss.  Score doesn't matter.  One almost certain major injury, another probable minor injury and Xhekaj is probably getting a suspension.

Who is the other?

I'm popping back forth between games that don't matter (Als clinched 1st place with Saskatchewan beating Ottawa this afternoon)

Reinbacher took an innocent bump and left really early.  Was helped down the tunnel not putting any weight on one leg.
