Commandant
35 in 43 now. Hes gonna take a run at the team record for points by a rookie Dman. 64 by Chelios is the target.
sbhatt
Newhook just isn't 2nd line material...he blows so many golden opportunities. That line is going to look so much better next season with Demidov in Newhook's place.

Neech
Another Lane Hutson masterclass. Newhook was also buzzing, but snakebitten. Monty badly outplayed his Utah counterpart.

DON
Smallest d-man in the NHL eh. 10 Thoughts: Relentless Habs Keep Up Winning Ways – HabsWorld.net "2nd Star – Mike Matheson When the coaching staff put Matheson with Hutson, this writer was not convinced that it was a wise decision. Both were prone to being risky players and I wasn’t sure the other could cover the riskiness of the other. The result has been the exact opposite..." Bottom Six Minutes: Lane Hutson may have the best Habs rookie season ever
JoeLassister
10 hours ago, Butterface said: Boom goes the dynamite ! Dach from Hutson… ! That goal for me, is what will define Lane Hutson's career. In each and every team, you probably have 4-5 dmen who would have dumped that puck in the corner. Then you maybe have one who would have tried holding on to it and make a play. Some would have failed, some would have succeeded. But very few would have succeeded to make a play of that caliber, setting up a full speed teammate who's gonna end up scoring because of that. Habs Fan in Edmonton
Hutson is magic, he can see the ice better than anybody else. His hockey IQ is off the charts.
The Chicoutimi Cucumber
I didn’t see this one, but the highlights suggest some middling goaltending by the Yeti and a D that was oddly prone to being split by smooth-skating Habs. Re: the Evans line, I would not be surprised at all if Heineman has been a secret weapon helping to elevate it. He has been very, very solid for a rookie. They’ll miss him. Hutson: these Great and the Good soi-disant “experts” who claim that he is “questionable in his own end” and try to find things that are wrong with his game, are simply full of crap. The FACT is that this kid does things hardly any one else in the league can do, and does them several times per game; and he rarely gets owned in the D-zone. All this beard-stroking and tongue-clucking reminds me a bit of the garbage around Subban when he first came up, minus the subliminal racism, but Hutson is 10X more imaginative and creative than Subban was (albeit less physical). I’ll say this: if Hutson were a Toronto Maple Leaf, he is all our so-called national hockey media would be talking about. The kid is a frigging all-star and will be a must-watch player in this league for years to come. The Toronto media need to move from denial to acceptance. (Also, thank God we have MSL as coach instead of a dinosaur like Therrien or a dummy like Ducharme. He’d probably still be slotted as a #7 d-man if those imbeciles were in charge). Good observations. I think the boys got lucky here. Defense Giving Matheson the middle for his tying goal. Goalie Going down way too early on the first Dach goal and wiffing the glove on the 2nd one. Way too many stupid penalties. Lucky win, but they did improve their play in the 2nd and 3rd, so I'll take it.
Commandant
I thought we took too many bad penalties in the first period and Montembault kept us in the game, only down 2-1 despite getting dominated. Keep in mind we actually had more shots than Utah despite that 11-2 first period total. So we dominated the second and third periods. The Dach goal was weak, sure but we won 5-3, not 4-3. i think overall on the balance of the game we deserved it.

Commandant
After a disastrous start where at one point the Habs were absolute bottom of the league, the team has now moved to just below mid pack in xG% at 5 on 5. Overall on the season we are 49.91%, which shows just how well we've been playing to bring this almost back to 50% after the bad start. Kinda shows that the winning isn't a mirage and we have actually been playing well lately source MoneyPuck.
