DON
I cherry picked some bits of Brunet's write up https://www.lapresse.ca/sports/hockey/2023-02-01/rondelle-libre/lane-hutson-a-le-droit-de-nous-emballer.php "A striking statistic: in his first season in the NCAA, in Wisconsin, forward Cole Caufield scored 36 points in 36 games. At his current rate, Hutson, a defender, we remind you, would amass… 47 in 36 games! Adam Fox: 40 points in 35 games at Harvard Cale Makar: 21 points in 34 games at Umass-Lowell Quinn Hughes: 29 points in 37 games at Michigan Devon Toews: 17 points in 37 games at Quinnipiac Owen Power: 16 points in 26 games at Michigan Zack Werenski: 25 points in 35 games at Michigan Only legendary Hall of Famer Brian Leetch, 1,028 points in 1,205 games between 1987 and 2006, produced at a similar rate among would-be National Hockey League defensemen in a first season in the NCAA with 47 points in 37 meetings at Boston College. Two defenders from the same American development program, Ryan Chesley and Seamus Casey, were drafted in the first half of the second round, by Washington and New Jersey respectively. Chesley earned a spot with the U.S. Junior Team, but he barely played. He has 7 points in 28 games. Casey, a 5-foot-9 defenseman, hasn't been as lucky as Hutson and Chesley, but he's doing well offensively at the University of Michigan with 19 points in 26 games." Tantalizing stuff for sure. ...they say he is now 5'10", but still seems quite small compared to teammates.
dlbalr
To be fair, he is beside a 6'6 player (Copeland) and a 6'2 one (Tuch).

DON
https://www.habsworld.net/2023/02/hw-3-stars-januarys-top-prospects-8/ BU wins 5-3 and lil Lane with 4 friggin assists in 5-3 win, love it! (35points in 25games). Scouts and GM ranked him bit too low me thinks and they all must all be thinking they dropped the ball again, based solely on SIZE. When will they learn? Hope Hutson and Caufield both prove em wrong big time. https://goterriers.com/news/2023/2/3/mens-ice-hockey-no-3-terriers-defeat-maine-5-3-for-seventh-straight-win.aspx "Wilmer's insurance goal came after some sensational skating and stickhandling from Lane Hutson, who controlled the puck down low until he found a wide-open Wilmer in the slot for the finish." The four points is also a career high for Hutson, who extended his point streak to 10 games and has now recorded 13 points (1g, 12a) in the last five Mailloux 1g(14)1a 3 shots (11th in OHL-d pts/gm) Rohrer 1g(14) 3 shots, GWG in OT Davidson/Struble 1a Dobes 4g 26 shot loss Farrell/Roy/Mesar/Kapanen/Beck/Tuch 0pts
GHT120
Heck of a wrist shot Having missed 20/21 and most of 21/22 he will likely need an OA season in the OHL and then some time in the AHL to groom his defensive game (by all accounts I've read). Sounds about right, fingers crossed he is smart & quick enough to defend at pro speed (unlike a Wideman, or some other offensive d-men who are a big negative in own end). But, i was also worried Xhekaj might look like a pylon in Laval this year and was wrong on that.

Peter Puck
That's Mailloux's 20th OHL goal in 54 OHL games. I think that may be the fastest ever to 20 by a Dman in the OHL.

alfredoh2009
very happy for the Habs that Logan seems to have gained maturity and is progressing well. here is his first interview as a Habs prospect: Logan Mailloux souhaitait depuis longtemps pouvoir démontrer qu'il est beaucoup plus que la faute qu'il a commise en 2020. Très fier d'être le premier à qui il a accepté de raconter son histoire.https://t.co/ruL83lcpaW — Anthony Martineau (@Antho_Martineau) February 7, 2023
tomh009
His French is, uhh, not quite fluent, but it's functional enough, and he's able to do a credible interview with ust a sprinkling of English words in. Certainly enough, and he says he's still working on it. Kudos for making the effort on that. 👍
