Am guessing he falls down alot this year in dlbalr's prospect rankings.

I believe he ranked them before Christmas (?), so yeas, for sure. but he is still getting a lot of praise from coaches and journalists

Yeah, the rankings themselves were set a while back.  It's just taking me forever to do my follow-up notes and then putting the write-ups together.  Yes, he is one of the bigger drops compared to last season but you're not going to see him appear in the next couple of articles at least.

Hope so, he is still just playing vs mostly high school kids, so not sure how his offense will translate to NHL?

'They' say his defense (like Hutson) has improved...only time will tell.

Will Mailloux has big finish and end up season with 1.0points/game or better, he is close at moment.

And so is Conor Bedard and every other draft prospect. :)

Am personally more interested in what he can do in the AHL than the last part of the OHL season. But it certainly would be nice to have another solid prospect for our defence corps.

Doesn’t he have to be signed by this years draft to retain his rights? If so, what do you think the over/under on that is?

Kinda hoping for Mailloux, their general plan is for another year in the OHL.

Id rather the AHL.

He already is dominant with the puck in the OHL, staying in the league he will just dominate possession.

In the AHL, he wont dominate possession as much and his defence can be tested/improved more via the repition.

How would you compare Mailloux and Barron as prospects?  I am no scout but I think Mailloux has more upside, perhaps a little bigger, stronger and more aggressive?  His wrist shot is phenomenal.

I think you are correct in that Mailloux has the higher ceiling.  His offensive potential is very high, but he will need to improved his defensive game or he will just be Nathan Beaulieu 2.0.    Barron has the higher floor as he's already proving that he can play in the NHL (he's older too).

That makes sense. Barron has had more time to develop. Thanks.

now that Mailloux is back on the fold, the D prospects and rookies look promising:

Guhle-Barron

Harris-Mailloux

Xhekaj-Kovacevic

with Matheson-Savard as the veterans going forward

Edmundson should be traded for the greatest return possible
