Nikita Scherbak apparently took a skate to the face ... fair warning, the below link goes to the post his his Twitter account and the photo is gruesome ... I am guessing the "after" photo is one he took in the mirror, as it is backwards

Thanks for sharing

Hoping Scherback doesn’t suffer facial nerve trauma like Julien who is still out

Zachary Fucale is playing well in the AHL for Hershey... 6-2-0 record with a 1.75GAA and a 0.932 SV%

Anyone think that he might get his first crack at the NHL with Washington?

Samsanov rocking a dreadful 2.97GAA + 0.894SV% and their other guy V.V. has only been okay with a 2.60 and .913%.

that would be nice, even if it is only a few games

They also have Craig Anderson on the taxi squad to use in a pinch and the Siegenthaler trade yesterday frees up a bit of money to perhaps try to add another goalie now that they know Lundqvist won't be back.  They also have Pheonix Copley ahead of Fucale in the minors and he has NHL experience.

They like Fucale - they just gave him a two-year extension but they like him as a fourth-stringer, not a viable NHL option.

Yes... but Anderson was god awful in his showings this year and to be fair quite bad the past number seasons. Plus Copley has been out played by Fucale.

However I agree that the Siegenthaler trade likely is to make room for a real goalie.

Very recent "where are they now?" but it's a real shame Noah Juulsen didn't make it through waivers earlier this year. He played sparsely and poorly in Florida, then was out injured for almost a month, got a 5 game conditioning stint in the AHL, and is now back in Florida as their 9th D and probably won't play again. 46 games played in 3 seasons.

Getting claimed might have been the worst thing for him.

RD, not sure he would have been a candidate for our team even with the suckage-levels of our D. Plus, I doubt that a #9 in FLA is good enough to be a meaningful contributor even to the Habs’ hapless defence corps.

but if he would have cleared waivers, he would have had the time needed to heal and be a career AHL call up for the Habs. If the doctors clear him, I would bring him back to Laval on an AHL contract

Always seemed like a nice guy ... maybe too nice to be a coach

Matthew Peca was playing for the Belleville Jr Sens against the Rocket this week: no points in three losses for the Sens. Peca has 3g+2a in 11 AHL games this year, and 0g+1a in five NHL games.

Bergevin still has a seventh-round pick for this year's draft from the Peca trade.

Best wishes to an honest warrior ... just hope he doesn't come to regret not doing it much sooner

The story in the Athletic insinuates that he’s doing well, but he does have some minor (?) issues from the countless concussions he has suffered.

Unfortunately they generally don't get better with time

I’m hoping he’ll be all right, but he’s taken some bad hits on his noggin so one never knows ...

I sure hope he will be ok, the guy had a huge heart. He played at big man's game weighing 180 lbs, that doesn't usually translate to a long NHL career.
