Until then I’m getting by reading random crap on twitter. Someone posted this picture and it makes me mad every time I see it. Worst period in Habs history and I hated both of these men. Really? Hated them both?? They both played with great passion. Sure they weren't perfect but I would take either one on my team in a heartbeat. Hated them for what happened that day and the subsequent trade that goes down as one of the worst trades in NHL history. Love Patrick Roy now but it took some time

For me, whatever he did as a player was erased during his tenure as a coach. Roy wasn't the only one moved becuase of Tremblay. Turgeon was moved becuase of Tremblay as well. We went from having Turgeon, Damphouse and Koivu to not having any centre depth until now.

I can’t believe how pumped I was for the guy! Today I get to be pumped by Slafkovsky and Demidov and both those guys have star potential, Romanov not so much

I remember seeing him there on some pretty big games. that qualifies him as a top-4 NHL-D, not bad at all. I liked him a lot and I still hope Xhekaj develops at least as well as Romanov

Romanov was the NYIs #3 defenceman ... average of 0:03 in PP-TOI, 4th in PK-TOI and averaged 0:12 O/T-TOI. But I too would be thrilled if undrafted Xhekaj can match selected 38th overall Romanov ... but not expecting it.

Slafkofsky and Demidov have elite level potential but Romanov never did.
Prime Minister Koivu
On this day in 2012, the Flyers signed Shea Weber to a 14-year, $110 million offer sheet. The Predators matched it five days later. Crazy deal
DON
Weber was awesome. What if, Preds just took all the picks and used the $$ elsewhere instead? Would they have been better off perhaps?

Not only that, Bergevin would have been stuck with a player that he hated in Subban or he would have traded him for who knows what.

What happened to him in terms of permanent injury is terrible on a human level, but was a stroke of good fortune from a purely cap management perspective. We got lucky. Surely even MB wasn't that idiotic I don’t remember the offer but it was that ridiculously low. It made Subban demand the 9 million a season. Subban was initially asking for 7 million per season and Bergevin responded with a low ball offer. Anyone remember the details?
Prime Minister Koivu
This article doesn’t have the actual dollar amounts. The Chicoutimi Cucumber
MB bridged Subban, even though reports were that PK wanted a long-term deal for around $6. So, fine. The team challenges the player to prove he's worth it. And all PK does, being a frigging stud - as anyone could recognize except our dinosaur management - is go out and win the Norris Trophy. Obviously very dumb cap management by MB. But what I found really annoying were the reports that MB then had the unmitigated gall to be angry at Subban for ruthlessly squeezing his nuts during the post-Norris negotiations. 🙄 As if PK owed him and his foxhole pal Therrien a single damned thing for their abuse and disrespect.
