The Chicoutimi Cucumber
That was a hella trade. Full credit to MB on that one. He generally was pretty good at the trade table, except for the Drouin disaster, unfortunately.

Thank God it didn't go down that way Ya, that definitely is not a rumor that they wanted Glass. I fully agree that Suzuki is way better. I sorta wanted Hughes to get Glass from the Preds but the Pens nabbed him. The Habs don't need Glass but he could have been an interesting and fairly cheap addition. Plus, that's a strategy the Stars are using and they have a strong team and are definitely a contender. i.e. they have numerous players that were Top 5 and Top 10 picks - but only 1 of them was their own pick. The rest of them they acquired from other teams. They didn't go the tank route to build their team.

A decent sized centre is what the Habs needed at that time too. I'm thankful for Suzuki. Imagine our centre depth if we got Glass instead! Pens got Glass, a third-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft and a sixth-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft for forward prospect Jordan Frasca, who two years into his pro-career seems to be an ECHLer ... basically, paid to take on Glass' $2.5M contract. Yep. After the Preds signed Marshessault and Stamkos they needed to dump Glass's $2.5 mil contract. The Habs probably had the cap space to have taken him on along with Laine. So far, Glass hasn't really done much for a player drafted as high as he was. The way he has worked out so far it doesn't seem like the Habs could use him. However, what is his ceiling and could Marty help get him there? He potentially would have been a great player to take a chance on because who knows what Marty might have been able to do with him. WOW!! You wonder how a guy who seems reasonably intelligent on TV could be such a bad GM. It's almost like he was trying to be a bad GM on purpose. GHT120
Former Dallas Star Mike Ribeiro pleads guilty to indecent assault Former Dallas Stars player Mike Ribeiro was originally accused of sexually assaulting two women on a boat and trying to assault a third woman on a jet ski in East Texas in 2021. During his first trial, he was found not guilty on the two sexual assault charges. Jurors couldn't agree on the third attempted sexual assault charge. This time around, Ribeiro accepted a plea deal, admitting he touched the victim without her consent.

Prime Minister Koivu
I don’t have a real connection to Weber. I like him fine and he was a great player - that’s about it. It would be amazing if Subban was there.

And frankly, I think it was mutual. I heard he wasn’t too thrilled to be traded here, and although he was an absolute warrior and a key cog in the Run of 21, he was never one of those guys who radiated joy at wearing the CH. It doesn’t help that he was a stoic, old-school robot compared to the incredibly flamboyant, popular, joyful player he was traded for. The Chicoutimi Cucumber
I see the trade as having been a lateral move that neither hurt nor helped us, particularly. I don't wish Weber's injuries on anyone, but we were extremely fortunate not to have to carry his cap hit until age 42 as his ridiculous contract specified. So from a pure 'hockey' perspective it worked out in the end.
