It’s not clear but he might not have found out about Kotkaniemi’s desire to leave until the offer sheet.

I agree that some people are taking that out of context in regards to the time that was known to MB.  ex:  kk was pissed that he was benched in the Cup final.

Ex Hab Jacob De la Rose won the Spengler cup today with Fribourg-Gotteron of the Swiss A League.

It was a 7-2 final against the Straubing Tigers from the German professional league, who took out Canada in the semis.

Side note that he scored the opening goal in the final and he and another ex Hab Daniel Carr (team Canada) were named to the tournament “all star” team.

Carr had a very strong tournament, probably their best true scoring threat.  There were quite a few former Habs on Canada's team - Carr, Charles Hudon, Philippe Maillet, Logan Shaw, and Madison Bowey while Noel Hoefenmayer (currently under contract to Montreal) also played for them.

I happen to be good friends with a direct descendant of his...she leveraged the name to get free tickets to the Bell Centre one time!

Just a bonus of being a Habs fan is all the great history that comes along with it.

I miss both of these guys and the triple low fives too

They were joys to watch from a time when the Habs were a young-ish team knocking on the door. Carey is an all-time great.

it seems like he has been a very steady defensive RD for them, from the forums some praise him as "their best D" some nights.

... but I do not know beyond what the internet algorithms shows me

THE GOOD OLD DAYS

1996 wasn't the good old days..Houle was on the way to destroying the organization at that point (although we were still competitive on the ice).

Agree on the ovation, though - a true Montreal moment for a true Montreal legend.

By good old days I simply meant the old Forum building.
