zumpano21
We're going to the show. No sense in being meek or understated about it. Who would you rather have Les Glorieux match up against in the 1st round? To me, the clear answer is Boston. Historic rivalry, lots of tradition, not to mention that our record is very much favourable against Beantown. On the other hand, I am scared to death of playing the Sens. They are absolutely firing on all cylinders right now, closing in on the 8th seed, and play above their talent level whenever they see us. Part of me wants to knock those bums out of the playoffs again, but frankly, i want nothing to do with the Bruins. It seems we play better against them in the playoffs when we are the underdogs not the favorites.

It seems we play better against them in the playoffs when we are the underdogs not the favorites. Bruins and Habs take turns beating each other in the play offs. But there is nothing better than coming home from work on a spring day knowing the Habs Bruins are playing in yet another play off series. Best rivalry in hockey. What ever happened in regular season goes out the window every time. Sens? Not even comparable. But we owe them one after they took us apart two years ago.
TheDriveFor25
Boston. Let Detroit and Tampa battle it out.. Not the big bad Bruins from years ago. Couldn't handle the speed of this years Habs!
illWill
What I think gives us the best shot at getting through the East: Round 1 - Bruins Round 2 - Red Wings Round 3 - Islanders
Seb
No reason for the Habs to be afraid of anyone. They're the top team in the conference and they act like it. They don't care who they get: they're going to handle their business knowing they're a good team that can skate with anyone in the league. That's what I'm excited for. KoRP
What I think gives us the best shot at getting through the East: Round 1 - Bruins Round 2 - Red Wings Round 3 - Islanders Was thinking that even a good team needs a break along the playoff road, and I agree, this would be a better path than most on the way to trying to acquire #25. Colin
Doesn't matter. If they play their game rather than dropping to their opponents level, Montreal moves to round two. Period. Thank gawd Buffalo can't make it.

The Chicoutimi Cucumber
Panthers because it means the boobears missed! Ha! I hear that. I don't want a Bruins matchup simply because I'm sick of the Bruins. I'd rather they just missed the playoffs altogether (although, unlike Toronto, I wouldn't wish endless playoff misses on Boston; much as I hate that franchise, I also respect it). But I don't want an Ottawa match up either, just because they're kinda like the Hartford Whalers used to be in the late 1980s - an inferior team to the Habs that nonetheless gave us lots of frustrating problems. Go Panthers go!!!

habs rule
What is the matter with Bruins vs Habs in playoffs, I love chance every spring to send em packing (Bruins fans not so much). Screw the Panthers, fold already!!! I am of 2 minds on this one. On the one hand I love sending the Brooons off to the golf course. On the other hand I want the easiest route to the cup. Boston is never easy, so maybe Florida is.
Habs30/31
Yea the always emotional bruin hab series. I love it though. But regardless of where they finish reg season its a coin toss. Long history not with standing, Price has already met them four times in the play offs. (2-2). Three of the four series went 7. I dont want the Rangers. Habs30/31
To get to the SCF, we'll have to go thru NYC Yes, that is likely. Would be a bonus if the Rangers were upset in first round by Tbay, Wings ?? Looking at their D the other day and think they will be the habs toughest opponent in a series.
The Chicoutimi Cucumber
Just out of curiosity, does anyone have any idea what fans from other EC cities are saying about the Habs? Are Boston fans going, "if we make it, I sure don't wanna play those damned Canadiens," etc.?
DON
No. Tampa, NY, Islander fans are all simply excited at having a solid winning season and looking forward to sweet 16 tournament coming in April/May.

Are Boston fans going, "if we make it, I sure don't wanna play those damned Canadiens," etc.? Bruins fans want to play us for revenge but also know we slaughtered them this season and continue to get under their skin. So call that a reluctant series. I know a lot of fans of other teams who don't want to play Price and think Pacioretty can get through their goalie. I don't hear a lot of, "I fear the Habs as a team" but I've heard, "I'd rather play the Habs after they play Boston/Tampa."
Guest Stogey24
I don't want to play Boston at all. They have a chip on their shoulder. Bad feeling about that match up

DON
Well... got to play someone in playoffs, as I really don't think Bettman will grant a bye to the finals for Habs. Oh well, I'll get to stretch out on bandwagon and will have a nice sharp pitchfork to keep the fickle-cynical lot from jumping off/on depending on whether lose or win each game.
