GHT120
The Canadiens held an optional morning skate at the Bell Centre ahead of Tuesday night’s game against the Tampa Bay Lightning. No news about lines ... and nothing I can find about who starts in goal ... the Habs did say that Rafaël Harvey-Pinard returned to practice for the first time on Tuesday, BUT they did not list him as "on the ice" for the morning skate ... so, just sharing that I can find nothing much to share. Prime Minister Koivu
I hope that RHP return doesn’t remove Slafkovsky from the top line. Give the kid a few games

Lines in the morning skate are not meaningful anyway, St-Louis likes to play games and try to fool other people with something different than he actually expects to use in the game. Sir_Boagalott
The Habs better win this game to pre-empt having 7 game losing streak. Whatever slim playoff hopes they have this year could die this week. Plus, I want to see them be resilient and able to rebound and not lose more than 3 in a row this year. Next year, I don't want to see them lose more than twice in a row, with the following year have that reduced to 1 loss in a row. If they can pull that off it would show they hate losing and that they're on the right track to building a perennial contender.

Not sure anyone actually had hopes they would/could make the playoffs. I picked a 29th finish, which may be a bit pessimistic, but not much lower than most guessed. TurdBurglar
What was Matheson trying to cover all by himself in the slot on the Paul goal? Brutal coverage.

Teams are rarely as good as they look at their best, or as bad as they look at their worst ... but I think most expect the Habs to be closer to the latter than the former. Habs Fan in Edmonton
I guess the old theory about teams being tired on back to back nights doesn't really apply tonight. Maybe the Habs will do better in the 3rd.

Prime Minister Koivu
I don’t like reading about Matheson not doing well. It’s game after game and I’m hoping it’s due to injury and not just that he played over his head last year. Our entire Dcore has not been good lately, perhaps Savard is missed. GHT120
BIG save by Montembeault ... but in doing so he took himself out of the net, leaving it wide open for Paul.

GHT120
TBL played last night in TO ... travelled to Montreal ... started a 29 yr-old goalie with all of two NHL starts (0-2 before tonight) ... didn't expect this result.
