Of course he would, we would likely make excuses for him. We would probably love Marchand if he played for Montreal but that's not the point. They don't play for Montreal so I choose not to like them.
Commandant
48 minutes ago, DON said: And was not penalized 1 minute, correct? Never suspended. So he is playing within the rules and is a very good player, isnt he? Trouba is like many hard hitting d-men, they live on the edge, no suspension coming for elbow, so all good as far as NHL safety dept is concerned, so why do fans give a crap. The $5,000 fine is gonna make things all good, no? If you want to believe the NHL Player Safety Dept knows what they are doing, and are above criticism for their calls, you are free to take that position. You are kind of in the minority though. Personally I think their decisions are shit.

Didnt say is as it should be; just it is what the owners-players agree upon. And it seems that the fans always get too worked up over this stuff than we should. We whine about officiating and suspensions the same now, as i recall was done in the 80s-90s-...

In almost every case, he defends the hitter, yells that “that’s playoff hockey.” 🤮 But in this particular case, he is banging the gong over and over that it’s a dirty hit. I laughed when he did his Don Cherry impersonation. Unfortunately he is starting to sound a lot like him now.
tomh009
Dallas has awesome depth, but what they don't have is a Carbonneau to counter McDavid's Gretzky. If you can't control the opponent's top line, the depth doesn't work quite so well.

Commandant
Its a great matchup. The oilers have the best top end of the roster. The stars have the best top to bottom roster in the league.

Prime Minister Koivu
Skinner has made some great saves and non of those goals were his fault. Still I feel like he needs to have one of them.
Habs Fan in Edmonton
Great game. Not a great goal by Skinner to give up but he was decent the rest of the game. A very fast game.
Habs Fan in Edmonton
I actually thought tonight's game was NHL hockey at it's finest. Two highly skilled teams playing hard, fast and disciplined, just a few minor penalties, no dirty hits. They both had their turn dominating the game. Fun to watch. He and Messier have a dog and pony show going on, which is pretty entertaining - e.g., when Messier chased him around the studio with the Cup - and probably good for the sport in the USA. But in general, I get the impression of one of those media personalities who feels he has to come up with an "instant hot take" on everything and is more interested in getting the clicks than whether or not his opinion is fully thought out. Guys like Tony Marinaro or Dave Pratt did the same thing, and soon degenerated into being useless blowhards - Cherry minus the nativism. Prime Minister Koivu
Skinner needs to be better and he has to step up and save some of those goals. Yes he made plenty of great saves but he needs to step up and save more

Prime Minister Koivu
Florida deserved to win last night and Trouba getting punched in the face at the end of the third was funny. Right in front of the ref and the ref just shrugged his shoulders. I guess that’s what they call karma but it sure looks like simple reffing incompetence to me. Trouba is a complete ass but the refs are useless
Prime Minister Koivu
Edmonton with a pathetic start. Down 2-0 twelve minutes to go in the first and zero shots on net. Seriously Edmonton WTF
