Yup, found the same thing. Should we trade up to 15 to get Dmitri Petrovich? Lol Somebody was having some fun. Sprinkled in a few legitimate names to make it look real. DON
Mean anything with meeting today? Just standard stuff i assume. https://www.journaldemontreal.com/2024/06/26/ivan-demidov-va-rencontrer-le-canadien-jeudi Russian forward Ivan Demidov has a meeting scheduled for Thursday with the Montreal Canadiens staff. • Also read - Canadian: it could be between Demidov and a defender • Also read – Ivan Demidov: NHL teams pleasantly surprised by two revelations about him This is what he told in good English to the media present in Las Vegas on the sidelines of the National Hockey League (NHL) draft which will be held Friday and Saturday. “Tomorrow [Thursday], I have a meeting with Kent Hughes,” he simply indicated. He also admitted to having met with Canadiens recruiters several times during the season. https://www.habsworld.net/2024/06/2024-final-draft-rankings-1-8/ Get this fellow a Habs jersey! Commandant
Due to issues getting in and out of Russia, they have probably had fewer meetings with Demidov than with any other top prospect (probably Silayev too, but not sure he's really an option for the Habs). Given that, getting a meeting while he's in the US seems a good plan... but don't think it means anything.

I guess Chicago & Sharks have specific targets in mind. Moving couple spots for picks, which seems odd for two celler dwellers, who likely should want to trade back for more picks to restock pool. And Sabres dont need more picks do they? Would think they would try and trade UP if anything. And given such a big variance on who goes where between 10-20, i would think them doing the deals during the draft once they see who is left on the board to trade up for, makes more sense, no? Assume Weber is entering Hall of Fame as a Predator, doubt he will be making Habs pick #5 this year, eh.
Commandant
Players dont enter the HHOF as a member of a specific team. Thats a baseball only thing.

A bad year for the Penguins to trade their #1 pick.

That sucks. ones hoping we could try and move up by moving Winnipeg's pick and a couple of NHL ready dmen, or additional picks for Buffalo's NJD, or Ottawa's pick. It is interesting that the trade was made today but maybe Grier will try and move up again tomorrow. Maybe a sign of a lot of moves in the works. Habs Fan in Edmonton
Grier will have Will Smith and Celebrini up the middle. What a great start for a rebuild. You would think he is now looking for that guy who can anchor the blueline.

As long as enough forwards are taken, Grier will be able to get a dman that has a floor of a solid #4. He also has picks that will allow him to jump up further as well. Meller93
Draft day! Im curious to see not just who you guys want, but who you are predicting to see drafted at 5. I’ll go bold. After Demidov and Lindstrom being taken at 2 and 4, Habs take IGINLA at 5. A personal favourite of mine, I won’t be disappointed with this pick. would also like to hear which reasonable pick would be a disappointment for you. Personally, I’d prefer not to see Silayev and to a lesser extent Dickinson. They’re fine prospects but as LD they don’t feel like good fits. Buium I would be ok with because I think he’s best Dman. Parehk and Levshunov fill a RD need so I’m ok with that. It’s going to be hard to disappoint me in the draft to be honest
