Does Condotta kill penalties?  That might be a consideration as well.

He does.  And if the plan is to move Heineman up if Anderson can't go, it makes more sense to have a fourth line role player than a skill one for this game since it'll be a spot with Dvorak and Pezzetta that's open.

a bottom six guy, which Roy isn't.

I would say at this point he is a middle six guy in the NHL ... 2nd line or an offensive-minded 3rd liner.

Not sure what this means so I’ll assume it was an STD.

Welcome back Slafkovsky

Wouldn't that make it a LBI?

Depends on how/where it was contracted

Whenever I see a new post under injury news I always brace myself for the worst. A little paranoid I guess.

I don't know how much help RHP would be. Will take him a while to get his game back. Don't know if he would be claimed on waivers if they sent him to Laval.

He can do conditioning in Laval without being on waivers.

Even once he returns, he may need bunch of games to get up to pace fo NHL.

Then nother bunch of games to get shot scoring touch.

So, i wouldnt expect too much from him anytime soon... or even this season if shoulder still not 100%.

Yeah I’ve kind of written him off for the season.

Laine could start on the bottom 6 until he gets his game going. He is going to be very rusty and very out of shape.

I'm hoping at some point that Newhook gets pushed out of the top 6.

I would start with a 14-day reconditioning stint in Laval. Get his confidence up and score some goals for the Rocket. 😊

I was thinking the same thing.

14 days? No.

But a couple games could be.  Remember that the player gets his full NHL salary during a conditioning stint and stays on the cap. The player needs to agree to it to, but a couple games to get the rust off could be something Laine agrees too.  Heck Price and Gallagher both took a game in Laval in 2021.

I would say plan for 2 games (the first and last of a 3 game set) and then see how he feels ... if 3rd game, maybe even a 4th, would help his confidence then do it ... if not, keep it at two ... he was already working to get "back into the game" after most of a year off, so it might take more time than Price and Gallagher.

I see the reasoning. I just don't see it happening. If he is fit and ready to play in the AHL, then he's fit and ready to play in the NHL. Once he joins the team for full practice, it will show his progress. If he's going and feeling it at practice, he will surely come straight into the line up, and MSL will need to manage his minutes.

I dont think he's back for a little while still though.

Makes sense and this is an expected move.

See you in December

He'll be back before then.  This is an LTI loan which typically carries a maximum of 3 games and 6 days (but can be extended by two games with league approval).  Harvey-Pinard probably plays tonight/Friday at home and then will be recalled/activated for Saturday against Vegas.
