in the 3rd, Marlies run Primeau and somehow they get a power play. The Marlies play by play announcer could not find the penalty on the reply

Condotta scores his first of the season, an empty netter with 9 seconds to go.

It was great to see the Rocket shut down everything the Marlies threw at them for the last 2:30 minutes. I thought that it may be a mistake, but I was wrong. They won the  road game.

Condotta, Harvey-Pinard and Xhekaj were the forwards for most of those minutes. I am happy to see Florian evolding into a potential 4th line center in the NHL.

I still find Wotherspoon too slow, but the coach trusted him along with Lidstrom

"A big save at one end by Connor Hughes on Joseph Blandisi set the stage for Laval to open the scoring. Jared Davidson broke up the play at one end, allowing Xhekaj to skate the puck in deep, taking a hit to pass the puck off. Noel Hoefenmayer fed it back to Davidson who sent it across the crease to Xhekaj, who slammed it home for his 11th goal of the year."

with the shortened forward lines, due to injuries, FlorianX. played more often and was constantly in the plays and positively noticeable: he has improved nicely in his rookie AHL season.

Engstrom was pushed off the puck too many times this back-to-back with Toronto. I do not remember seeing this happen before. I hope it is not how things will be with him.

Trudeau played a good game. I doubt he has a future in the NHL, I hope he proves me wrong. He competes hard, is tough to play against and has good insticts

Gustav Lindstrom (upper-body injury) is out for two weeks.  Luke Tuch (lower-body injury) is out for eight weeks.  Vincent Arseneau (lower-body injury) is out for two to four weeks.

And Laval is losing 5-0 in the third to Belleville.  Tough day for them.

A rough game for Primeau after his stellar AHL start: five goals against on 20 shots. Although even if it were only one, the Rocket would still have lost ...

Laval signs winger Logan Nijhoff to a PTO agreement.  He was in camp with Montreal and Laval earlier but is only on an ECHL deal.

Laval also recalled defenceman Vincent Sevigny from Trois-Rivieres.  This should now at least give them the ability to dress 12 forwards tomorrow and maybe even have a spare body.

4-2 at the end of second. Rochester pulled Levi after he allowed four goals on 11 shots. If they can hold the lead they will move back atop the AHL standings (tied with Hershey but with still two games in hand).

Roy 2a 4 shots

Leave Beck and Mailloux down there, grab a couple of waiver wire replacements ... let the youngsters WIN together.

As long as they remain eligible for the AHL playoffs is one key thing I think.

If called up and play a regular shift with habs for a month or so wouldnt hurt, as long as not healthy scratched much.

Except that it hurts The Rocket's chances in the games that are played while they are with the Habs

Yes, but did fine without them in short run and Evans and/or Armia, Savard  likely be gone within a couple weeks.

31-15 so far, do pretty well.

I've given up on the Habs season (I know not all will agree) ... but I feel that the run for the regular season championship and then the playoffs will be of more value than time with the Habs ... just my opinion.

Ive given up on the season too.  Id leave Mailloux and Beck eligible for AHL playoffs by papering them down pre deadline but i think 15-20 NHL games would be best for their development too.  Especially Beck who has absolutely looked like he belonged in recent games.

Mailloux doesnt look as good so maybe he takes 10-15 games and if Reinbacher plays well in Laval he can switch with Mailloux and have 5-10 too.

Both have a really small sample size-- two games for Mailloux and three for Beck?--so some more games would make sense, to see what they are able to do. Start with 10 games each and make decisions after that, at least 10 games gives the Habs a better basis for evaluation.

I agreed but I’d give them some games this year, so they can get more feedback on what they need to work on. I’d add Roy as another guy who go should get a few games. But they should all be in Laval for the playoffs.

You'd really need to give him those games this month as the call-ups post-TDL are very limited--maybe three in total?

That’s about what I had in mind for Roy. If we make an early move for some our our forwards or move Savard, we may be able to get another 5 games for Beck and Mailloux. Not enough time for more than that, given the number of available games.

4 (this includes who is papered down for playoffs)

So Beck, Mailloux, Roy, Reinbacher
