Also, there won't be anyone filling Boldy's vacated spot. For cap purposes, it looks like they'll be playing short a forward tonight (which then triggers a cap-exempt emergency recall). bar
I was wondering why they had no player in that position on the website I got the lines off of.

They actually were compliant at 11-7, but then Goligoski couldn't go.

Prime Minister Koivu
New lines stink but let’s see Pearson - Newhook - Slafkovsky Anderson - Monahan - Gallagher

Anderson doesn't fit ANYWHERE ... he has size, he has speed, he has a decent shot and he has an element of toughness, but he has never found a home on any line ... somewhat like some men/women choosing losers as partners because they think they can "fix them" ... coaches look at Anderson's skill set and think THEY can be the one to teach him how to (metaphorically?) "play well with others" ... move him out while there are still other Gms/coaches who think they can be the one.
huzer
The Habs sling shot power play move is absolutely putrid.
Habsfan84
Two shorthanded goals given up on one powerplay. That was rough. First goal allowed was pretty weak by Montembeault. Second a bad bounce but avoidable.

After being 29th on the PP last season at 16.1% to Habs have climbed all the way to 18th ... with a 16.7% PP, entering the game ... don't be fooled by the ranking, the PP still sucks. TurdBurglar
It doesn't bode well that in 3 games they've given up 2 5-on-3's. Penalties were an issue last season, and it doesn't seem to be any better this season.
sbhatt
I can't watch any more of this garbage. Minny owns us the way Aaron Rodgers owns the Bears.
dlbalr
Ugh, a completely unnecessary and stupid penalty by Xhekaj as the buzzer sounds. Can't have those. Meanwhile, hopefully the Guhle thing isn't serious.

dlbalr
On the bright side, Kovacevic was noticeable in the offensive zone. He picked some good times to jump up which led to some good scoring chances at least. He has impressed to start the season.

I appreciate your looking at the bright side, but TBH Kovacevic is 26…I have trouble seeing him as a major piece of the rebuild. He’s not the guy I want to see blossoming and excelling out there 😔 Fortunately I only listened to this one on the radio…it sounded as listless and hopeless as a game from the second half of last season
tomh009
No, Kovacevic will not turn into a franchise player, but if he can blossom into a middle-pairing RD that’s still a win for the Habs, and even more so given that he was picked up on waivers. Prime Minister Koivu
Kovacevic was the only good thing in this game and he was good at both ends. The first period was ridiculous and the PP zone entry is equally ridiculous. Happy for Newhook getting another goal. He isn’t a great centre but he will do until Dvorak gets back. That second period Slafkovsky interference penalty where he knocked the stick out of the guys hands was beyond stupid.
alfredoh2009
Habs looked so soft in the first half of the game. Pezzetta gave some emotion back, but the penalties and the lack of discipline sank them. Newhook reminds me of Drouin, on hi sfirst season before the wrist injuries. Ylonen and Evans are playing well together. Montembeault reminded me on why he was waived to be picked up by the Habs Gallagher had an ok game, but far from what he used to be. I liked Pearson's game, I hated Slafkovsky's lack of maturity. ====== if MSL is not able to bench anyone and instill some discipline, I am going to boil over and steam. PP time is not given to the most deserving...
