Good point.

This finalist for the flag is pretty crazy. I’m happy with what we went with.

To the game: Finland leads 2-1 after the first. Laine with two assists 🤔 We need Laine to coax Rantanen into coming as a free agent 🤔 Maybe Aho will follow as well 🤔 Carolina can keep Kotkaniemi.

Not if he wants $14m! From what I read, if he was willing to sign for $12.5m to $13m, he’d still be on the Avs.

Standings heading into the matchup against the USA:

Looks like every team will still be alive after tonight. USA clinches if they win in regulation.

Makar is out meaning Sanheim (Theodore) and Harley (Makar) are in tonight.

Love the red vs blue. I wish more games had no white jerseys.

Well! I never expected THAT  start to the game ...

On the other hand, we know the Tkachuk's love to stir things up.  I wish they'd have done misconducts on the second and third fights though.  Send the message that if you're going to have that nonsense that there will be repercussions for it.

Fighting was stupid but whatever.

Binnington uggggg you gotta save that.

Really tight checking game with bursts  of incredible speed. McDavid is a wildcard because he can genuinely score at any moment but I worry about Binnington

Binnington’s kind of like Montembeault but has more pedigree. He’ll let in a soft one but also make the big save. I’m sure that can be said for a lot of goalies but I’m saying it because I actually believe in him. If the game is close or on the line, he can make the big save as he did in overtime game one versus Sweden.

Canada needs to score on the power play when they get their opportunities with the extra man.

I agree with your assessment. Binnington was great in OT.

Hopefully Canada can score now

I wonder if there is a benefit for finishing 1st in the group. It should be something like you’re the home team with last line change if you finished atop the group. Even if it’s Canada (or any team) vs USA in Boston.

Apparently Canada was the road team against Sweden so perhaps it will be the case.

USA has a slight edge in play. They have a huge edge in net. The difference so far is that atrocious first USA goal. I think I’ve seen Monty surrender one goal that pathetic all season. Not impressed with Binnington at all.

The second goal was harder because it was a 2 on 1. But in a game like this, you can’t surrender a crap goal like that.

TBH I’d like to see Suzuki on this team. I honestly think he could help the bottom end of their lineup.
